This was our second visit to Cedar Point Campground. It was an after Christmas trip to relax after a busy, busy holiday. This was perfect. We never saw or heard a camp host or park ranger. Came, went to our site and relaxed. We visited Swansboro's shops and ate on two on the water restaurants. Saltwater Grill is our favorite. We drove to Emerald Isle and up the coast to Atlantic Beach then over to Morehead City and beyond to Beaufort for lunch one day. Beaufort is a busy shopping destination along the waterfront. On another day we visitedthe Memorial Gardens in Jacksonville. The Vietnam Memorial there is a must see. There are also memorials to Beirut, corpsmen, 911, Montfort Point Marines and others. We also did the Riverwalk at Wilmington (yes a bit far) but it runs along the Cape Fear River with lots of restaurants and a view of the Battleship NC.

The park has a very nice nature trail that is well kept. The boat ramp area is serviceable and nicely located near the campground. The campground has very nice sites but it needs a fair amount of refurbishment. About half of the potable water spigots are broken and not usable. Thus, you must walk or ride some distance to get potable water. The bathhouse is significantly run down and has malfunctioning toilets and other smaller issues. One of the malfunctioning toilets has been in this condition of at least 6 months. A small repair could have fixed this issue. Some of the issues with the campground could be repaired for a small amount of money. It is a shame that the Forest Service cant or wont fund the repairs that are needed to make this campground a very desirable place to stay.

This was our first camping experience with our new RV. We really enjoyed the campground. We live close by but we will go back.

It is a very nice and quiet place will definitely be back. Wish the host was made more of an effort. Most places I stay the host will make rounds just to check on the campers. I didn't even know what the host looked like.

We have stayed at Cedar Point many times. But this time we only saw the host when we checked in. They usally are always driving around the park, but not this time. We rented the a double lot and only had 1 picnic table and broken one at that. We like Cedar Point and will stay there again. But could use a better host.
