We stayed at the campground from Charleston on our way to Nags Head. We spent 5 nights here. The marsh trail was beautiful but mosquitoes were plentiful. The showers were not very clean but functional. Only saw the host once outside their camper. No rangers were present. Sites are far apart and most are plenty long for big rigs. Potable water is available through out the campground and electricity was available at our site (4).

The campground is very well maintained and the camp hosts are friendly. The spots are spacious and nice and are able to fit a 45' 5th wheel. You are very close to Emerald Isle where there is plenty to do there. We did ride our bikes from the campground to Emerald Isle and it does say "bike friendly" but be cautious because you are riding with a lot of vehicle traffic and going over the big bridge with traffic. We will come back and stay here again to explore more.

Sites are well spaced. This time of year in the late fall, the shower rooms need some heat.

We have been NFS Hosts for 2 years in rural MT. Loved our campgrounds. If you haven't been to the very rural West you can't imagine our shock at the eastern NFS campgrounds. There is no comparison but this was a wonderful experience in a comment different way. Paved, level sites, completely groomed and running water and electricity. Holy smokes. If you are into"soft & sedate" camping you will love this place. I am crazy about rural CG's but don't get me wrong, we're will gladly return here also. Wonderful hosts BTW.
Water at the dump station was in disrepair. Had to cut on and off in the ground and it leaked. Only 2 of the water facuets in the loops worked. Lovely campground just needs some TLC.
We enjoyed our weeklong stay at Cedar Point campground. It is not a large campground but the sites are themselves good-sized and well spaced throughout the area. All sites have electric hook-ups but water is available at non-threaded spigots dispersed around the campground or at the dump station (which is threaded). We liked that the campground was close to the water and that there was a small pier with a cartop boat launch area nearby. There is some bicycling in the area, with some bike paths on the island. The nearby nature trail was well-maintained and allowed easy access across the tidal salt marsh. We were surprised at how close it was to Emerald Isle and the amenities and recreational opportunities there. The bathrooms and shower areas are on the older side, but functional. With Covid and social distancing we didn't use them much. Supplies in the bathrooms was an issue when we did and the dumpster was overflowing. (The campground host was in transition when we were there and that might explain the condition of things.)
We liked the location and campground enough that we will keep it on our list.

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
