Beautiful campground with friendly staff. The view of the lake was terrific. The trails outside the campground are pretty rough, but there are plenty of roads to walk on instead.

Exceptional, large campsites at a great price when using our senior discount. Lots of shade and fantastic lake views. Very good fishing if you like fresh caught spotted bass filets for supper.Lack of sewer connections for longer term stays is one drawback and the bathrooms are well past needing rehab. When they are drawing down the lake significantly like during our stay some form of notice is necessary. We didn't know and as a result we had some expensive repairs to out boat.

This place is amazing! We had 4 campsites with friends and we really enjoyed being lake front. Enjoyed floating in the lake and fishing. It is also a great place to ride bikes. We biked to the dam and on every road in the campground! The visitor center also is a place you will want to visit. We will definitely be back.

First, let me say that the campsite itself was more than adequate. Very pleased with it and the shade that it provided. Double wide site that gives plenty of room for the camper and to park the vehicle. There is enough space to comfortably Park a second vehicle there.My complaint is not with the site but with the park policy of requiring a three night stay your reservation is tied to Friday or Saturday night. We were traveling from out of state and having to pay for three nights when we only needed one or two, like Thursday and Friday night did not seem appropriate. I would think the corps of engineer should look at their policy for people who are traveling or live more than 150 miles or so from the campsite. However, we did enjoy our stay there even though we had to pay for a Saturday night that we were unable to use. My Verizon cell service was almost non-existent at this site. AT&T service was fine. Thanks!

Need to have more things to play on at the playground and possibly have another playground in a different area. Also, people are speeding through areas and children are darting out in the road and in bikes. Adults need to slow down and be cautious.

The only draw back with Shaffer Heard is the internet service. Other than that it is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay.

Hosts are great people and very helpful. Maintenance had not cut grass. It was knee high. Cut it myself.

The park is beginning to have Kudzo . I let them know last year. This year it is even worse. It would just take a tiny bit of precaution at this point to get it so the park is not ruined. I have camped here my entire life. It seems very negligent to not take care of this issue before it turns into something large and as well as beauty of the park as well as the trees.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
