We really enjoyed our stay at R Schaefer COE campground. The grounds are well kept, the sites are far apart and the views are great. It was nice to stay by the lake and fishing was good.

This is a beautiful campground way above what we needed for just a quick overnight. The campsites are wide with paved parking pad for our 30' travel trailer with plenty of room. There is also a tent pad at each site. The lake is beautiful but the level was low due to dam repairs. Pull throughs were available but we like spot 110 so just backed in easily.We were there for 18 hours and were invaded by small black ants which we saw mentioned by others.

Our fifth trip to R Shaefer Heard. Great campground. The staff on duty always does a great job. AT&T cell service was good. We like to camp Sunday-Thursday to avoid the crowds. We like the park being open year around. One note be sure and check your camper length to make sure it will fit on your selected site. Saw one camper this trip that had to relocate. Many of the sites in this park have a more than normal steep angle that can prevent your rig going on a site. Ours is only a 25 ft. no problems.

We are always pleased with our stay(s) at this campground. Not once have we been disappointed. Sites 8 and 7 are spectacular.

Very scenic campground which is well maintained. Staff at the gate/office were friendly and helpful. Sites are generally very spread out. Be advised that many of the sites are narrow and steep we asked to be moved from the site we originally reserved because of this. Would come back again!

This particular campground was perfect for us and our dogs. Almost completely shaded and near the rest room. The shower house was a little farther but an easy walk from the campsite. Not too far from the lake. We had a wonderful time enjoying the scenic views, the peaceful silence of nature, and the never ending walking paths to discover the park. We will be back!

I always enjoy the lake and the park is clean with many large, private campsites. Facilities are basic but generally well maintained.

We love staying here. Water all around and a peaceful atmosphere. We love to walk and ride our bikes so lots of pavement for those activities. A lot of people go boating. Were out of state so cant enjoy that activity but we always find something to do.

1st and worst check-in ever. Lady was very very rude and unprofessional to my husband. He asked if we get a price difference for Retired Army disabled senior Veteran. She saw another Rv coming in and told my husband just get on out of here. We were parked on the right side for parking to check in so not to interfere to incoming traffic. We were surprised about the water level being so low. It would be curtesy to let people know before reserving. Also I know that budget is low but to let the bathroom and showers get to be so rusted and no paint. My grandchildren said it was the worst they ever seen. Then we see all like of work with many workers outside the visitors office which should be put into your paying campers bathroom and showers. On the positive side of this visit would be the sites were excellent besides the water level at this time.

The camping trip was a wonderful family experience! The site itself was clean, well-maintained, and perfectly suited for our family vacation. The weather was absolutely beautiful the entire time, making for perfect days of exploring, relaxing, and quality time together. We did note that the lake was down significantly, which slightly impacted water activities, but honestly, the gorgeous surroundings and great atmosphere more than made up for it. We managed to have an incredible time and are already looking forward to our return visit! Highly recommended for a fantastic, relaxing getaway.

We love the ACOE campgrounds! They are all well maintained, clean, spacious, beautiful, with good separation between sites. Furthermore, they are incredibly affordable, especially with the Federal Senior Lifetime Pass. My only negative comment re. Shaefer was the restroom facility could use a new coat of paint and a replacement mirror.

We enjoyed our 3 day stay with our family in site 50 (double site). The camp site was very clean and ready upon arrival. The camp hosts were exceptional - very friendly and helpful. We will return!!!! Wi-Fi is pretty poor, but we did manage to find the perfect spot (a 3x3 spot in the center of the site!) to watch the GT and GA games!

Even if it is a very popular campground, it's still our favorite place to relax, and unwind. The sites are always clean, not too close to one another, and the view of the lake from almost all sites is magnificent. Yes, we have to reserve ahead of time, as they're full most weekends. Only one thing they could improve, put more dumpsters, or a trash collection service.

The park is very clean and organized, although there were quite a few long legged spiders in the bath house! When camping, nature is inevitable!! The camp host were helpful when we asked to relocate to another site (the picnic table and fire ring were on the opposite side of our camper door), and made the transition very easy. Although the lake was drained as a seasonal operation, we enjoyed finding things in the sand, and seeing what sort of paw prints were made during the night.

Campgrounds were in great condition, very clean. Shower facilities also in great condition - clean, good hot water and water pressure. Campground check-in was easy and staff were welcoming and helpful. She even went above and beyond when she realized we had not been able to apply our National Senior Pass discount when we booked online, and so she took care of it immediately. Sorry I did not get her name.

The gate attendants were so welcoming and helpful from beginning to end. This is a double site and it did not disappoint. Grounds were clean and well maintained. Great lake views with beautiful sunsets. Restroom was clean and we had shower and restroom within walking distance. Our cell service was ok, around 2 bars. We will definitely be returning to R. Shaefer Heard Campground.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
