Shared site 52, a double, with kids and grandkids. Nice double site with campers facing one another. Right on lake with easy access to water. The shower house was clean, but looked the same as it did twenty years ago when we stayed at this campground, could really use a fresh coat of paint and new mirrors.

We love this campground! We do an annual friends camping trip here with several adjacent sites and always have a great time. The boat launch is convenient and easy to launch in and out of. The bathrooms are usually pretty clean, except with folks leave the light on overnight and the bugs are bad. The campsites that we usually reserve are easy to get in and out of, the bathroom is close by and room for parking our boat trailer. I have camped also on the loop with site 82 and it would be helpful to have a bathhouse there.

Super fun double site. We went with some friends. It was wonderful. The town of La Grange and West Point are not far. We travel to eat there sometimes and also to do a little walking and shopping. In La Grange there are several great restaurants. Nutwood winery, Nutwood in downtown, and Wild Leap Brewery are super nice and a fun hangout. Sometimes we dont leave our campsite and just hangout at the lake on our boat and Kayak with our dogs and we are fine with that too.

We had a good time at R. Shaefer Heard Campground. We enjoy all the campgrounds at West Point Lake. Going to return to Whitetail in March!!

Wonderful place to camp. The operators are the best in the business. Great places to eat in West Point and Lagrange.

Great park but take spray for ants. They will invade and take over your camper. Friendly staff. Check-in should post warnings about the ants so campers can act to avoid the problem.

A wonderful location for camping as well as proximity to golfing and to explore Calloway Gardens.

Great campground on the water. Driveways can be a little steep. Some of the host are rude.

Loved our stay. It was rainy and chilly, but that didn't stop us from enjoying our time! Clean grounds and very warm showers!

Site 52 (double site) was perfect for us and our friends. Our side was back in, level trailer pad, 30ft trailer just did fit. Other side was pull in and was tight for our friends as he had to start turning his truck and barely got his chains undone, however he was able to back out the drive before putting them on when leaving. Both sides are down a slope. Easy water access. Clean bathhouse. This was a last minute find for us as we had to evacuate our previous reservations @ 5 am due to flooding. We called and they let us check in early. This park (and site number) are on our list to return.
