The only draw back with Shaffer Heard is the internet service. Other than that it is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay.

The people at check-in were knowledgeable and helpful. The campground was beautiful and clean. The campsite was large and easy to enter, even with a 40 ft motorhome. The signage throughout the campground was excellent, and the supplied directions were great.I stayed there while attending a storytelling event at Lagrange College. The park employees even made it easy for me to return to my site after the park was closed so I did not miss any of the activities in Lagrange. The only downside was that the lake looked like a mud puddle. I understand that it had to do with the weather and the time of year. I lived there before the dam was built, and I never want another flood like the one I experienced when West Point was underwater. For this reason, I was pleased to see the water down and the lake ready for the rainy season. I had to leave early, and after I returned home, I noticed that they had even returned part of my charges. This was another unexpected happy-making event. Please keep up the great work. I could not have had a more pleasant experience. I will be back.

Camp site #17 should be labeled rv only. Not enough room for a 10x10 tent and pop up. Could not use the fire pit for fear of burning down my tent. Water runs down hill to the site causing tent to get wet inside. Should bulldozer the site and start over.

This park is a gem. Sites are large and almost all waterfrontnice. Bath houses are starting to look worn but what should one e pact for the price. People were friendly and helpful. All in all a superb experience.

We were on site 17. This site is large and spacious, with water front. Great water to park a boat and swim in May-Sept. The water is very low in the winter and early spring, so not good for boats. The park is always clean, the bathhouse and bathrooms are always clean. The park is usually quiet , if noisy, everyone is respectful and is quiet after 9. Grocery store and restaurants are 10 mins. from R Shaefer.

They were control burning and I have breathing problem and my dog has breathing problem. Smoke was horrible along with the stench of burning after the rain. Burning was done 40 ft away from us. Ruined the whole trip for us. Very miserable. Had to leave for awhile just to be able to breath.

We love this campground as almost every campsite is in the water. We were planning a spring trip and almost didn't get a pair of sites next to each other. We try to stay here when going to the panhandle.

Bath houses need to be cleaned, exterminated and updated.
No actives for anyone. Why do you guys have an amphitheater ?

This was a very nice COE park. Our site was on the cove of the lake and very quiet. Lots of space and site was in good condition. The 50 amp electric worked great. Beautiful lake and great park. I would highly recommend.

Bathroom is in serious need of updating. The vent fan is horrifying. But otherwise, this is our favorite place.
