Pretty scenery and well kept campsites. Just plan ahead, the bathroom(s) in Dogwood loop still use an older style push button shower, so you have to keep pressing the button every 5 to 10 seconds for the water to keep running, and there are no heaters in the shower area.

My family has been visiting Davidson River Campground for the last 30 years. This year we stayed ten days and loved everyday of it. There is so much to do. We rest, ride bikes, swim in the swimming hole, tube the Davidson River and play games in the evening. We visit Brevard, waterfalls, Sliding Rock, we love going to the Cradle of Forestry and the Fish Hatchery. We sometimes take a day to drive to Nantahala to raft on the river. We never run out of fun. The campground is well maintained and has wonderful wooded sites on which to camp. We never tire of our trips to Davidson River Campground. Prepare for rain, you will get rain when you camp in a rain forest, but most rain passes by quickly and the fun continues. We are already looking forward to next year.

We have always enjoyed camping at Davidson River. The staff and volunteers do an amazing job and are always helpful and friendly. We were very impressed with how much has been done to repair and restore the area after the storm damage from last year. There is still a lot to be done but it looks much better than many other areas that suffered storm damage. The 'Bear Boxes' (for food storage) in the camp sites was an very nice addition. Hopefully the Fish Hatchery will eventually be repaired and return to operation, and the river will again have the fish that we remember it having. We look forward to camping there again.

Always a good time even when no bears come thru the campsite. It's Pisgah, bring bikes!

Always enjoy camping there. Some of the loops had too many mud holes. Lots of mulch around that could have filled them up.Be back in October.

Large flat sites with lots of mature vegetation. Hiking trails, biking and tubing all within the campground. Very clean. Staff was super friendly. One of my favorite campgrounds to visit.

The site is convenient to the River trail, bathrooms, and water spigot. It is quite private shielded by vegetation, level, and spacious.

The campground is great especially if youre near the swimming area on the river or near it. You can hear the river which was a huge plus for me. Bear boxes at the campsites made it that much more fun when camping with kids because of the excitement of possibly seeing a bear. Luckily no bear encounters at camp but we did see one on the Blue Ridge Parkway! The campground is very close to a lot of the areas attractions: Looking Glass Falls, Sliding Rock, Cradle of Forestry museum and the ranger station. Conveniently located close to town but feels like youre hours away. The staff was extremely nice and very helpful with any questions about camp or the surrounding areas. The bathroom/bathhouse was a little rough, BUT, theyre renovating them over the winter/spring. Thats the only reason I gave 4 stars. I will definitely return next year and fully plan on giving this campground 5 stars. I absolutely recommend this campground to anyone that plans on camping in Pisgah NF and wants to be close to a lot of family friendly sights(and sites!)

My favorite campground in North Carolina. Amazing location I do have one complaint others have found out how wonderful it is and now its harder to get a reservation and I have to do better planning.

Absolutely beautiful and close enough to town to get supplies. One of the top state/federal park campgrounds I have ever stayed at and Ive been to a bunch. Big sites with distance between. Show staff. Great amenities. Awesome river beach. Love this place!

We had a site with electricity, which is a big plus. The campsite was maintained well and there were no issues. We appreciated the mowing between sites to eliminate briars and poison ivy. Since our friends occupied 4 additional sites in our loop, we could easily see and access their sites while having ample space between us. The only thing I would suggest is to have the fire ring a little further from the camper and picnic table as our awning would have extended too close to the heat.

We recently visited Davidson River Campground for the second time. We stay in the Dogwood loop and use a site with electricity. We camped with 4 other couples. I love the loop because we were able to all be in sites close together. my only complaint , and I think this will be rectified, one bathroom on the loop was clean and the other was not. It had cobwebs all over and was obviously not well maintained. I think all the bathrooms will be renovated soon so I expect that will be taken care of in the future. There are potable water faucets all around the loop which is great for tenters and those who don't carry their own water supply. There is a lot to see and do that's pretty close by. The town of Brevard is definitly worth visiting. We have visited Pretty Place, there are many waterfalls including Sliding Rocks where you can actually slide down big boulders, Pisgah Inn that has a lovely restaurant and a fabulous view plus lots more. Young children seemed to love biking around the paved loop in the campground or visiting the river where there is a swimming hole. We are seniors and like the half price discount with our Golden Age Passport gives us. There are lots of tenters and many self-contained RVs. Many folks set up tents over the picnic tables for sheltered eating.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
