Had a great time catching fish on the river and spending time with my family camping, hiking, and exploring. We love Davidson River Campground.

It was the first camping trip of the season and had a great time. The host in the loop was super nice and very helpful and friendly. It is a great campground to get out and explore with a camera or just to birdwatch. I plan on going back later in the season.

First off, the people were great. We had a campsite reserved for 31 December through 1 January. However, it being a five hour drive we left left on the 30 December and took our chances that it would be available for a first come first serve type thing. It was a little after 8pm and the office hours were closed, but they have a sign for were the host manager lives. They were very nice, didnt mind us coming in before our date and waited until morning to take the payment for the 30th. They even offered to help me set up my tent with it being so dark outside, and offered me a tarp because of the rain. There is a lot of attraction right outside the campsite. From hiking to magical waterfalls. It is a must visit campsite, totally worth the little over five hour drive.

Excellent staff from Gate to the folks maintaining the facilities and camp hosts. Campgrounds in great condition. Just wish it had more 30Amp power sites.

Wonderful time at Davidson River! Easy access to the river for floating, fishing, and fun! Quick trip into Brevard for restaurants and shopping. 5-10 min to Looking Glass Falls and Sliding Rock. Bring the Family, Cool off in the river or falls and enjoy the NC Mountains! Great Family Trip or Get-A-Way for all!

Nice location . Map looked like you would have a view or access to river(site Appletree 43R) but you didn't cause it was very grown up around the campsite. Showers were nice and hot, female shower was out of service. I would still stay there again, it met our needs and is in a good loction.

This was our first ever camping trip in our new to us pop up camper. The area is absolutely beautiful. The hiking trails were great and the waterfalls were no more than 10 minutes away. The campground was neat and clean however campsites are on top of one another, so not much privacy. I do wish the host would have come introduced themselves especially since it was our first time at this campground. It would have made it feel more welcoming and at ease since being newbies. We will definitely be back next year. It may become a yearly trip for us.

My daughter and I stayed here for four nights last week and loved it! The site was clean and free of brush and weeds, staff was friendly and helpful, and firewood was dry.

The campground is very close to town and countless hiking trails, but feels nice and secluded, as camping should. The staff, poised and ready to help, are all extremely pleasant and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The only thing I couldn’t rate at 5 stars was the amount of fallen, and/or cut trees at the front of the campground, making it feel a little less “woodsy.” But the further you go into the property, the more wilderness it feels like.

Still lots of old storm debris lying around so not pretty surroundings, needs a really good clean up of dead/fallen trees etc. Limited bathrooms open in winter and none on our circle!!
Otherwise comfortable.

We camped several days at the end of November, beginning of December. The campground was only 20% occupied. It was quiet, very peaceful. Only one bathhouse per loop was opened and hot water was not guaranteed although our bathhouse was heated to 55 degrees.
