The site is convenient to the River trail, bathrooms, and water spigot. It is quite private shielded by vegetation, level, and spacious.

The scenery, hikes, river, and unique campsites make Davidson River a special place. Walking along the river is relaxing. You can also fish and cool off at various locations along the river.

Davidson River is always fun. Abundant trout, swimming hole, convenient to restaurant and stores. Hiking the river/fitness trail upriver for a tube ride back to the campground is a favorite activity.

While I was only at the campground for a weekend and wasn't IN the campground a lot, I really liked the layout and the spacing between the sites. The pad (I had a 25' TT) was very level and pretty accessible given that it was a back-in around a curve (Hemlock 121.) It's a deceivingly large campground, located convenient to Looking Glass Falls, Brevard, and not terribly far from the Blue Ridge Parkway. The staff was friendly and helpful. A really long stay might have been challenging since there are no water/sewer hookups on the sites, but I wasn't there long enough for that to be a concern. The dump station (and water-fill station) is near the guard house, easily accessible on the way in or out.

We RV camped late February and were surprised that the campground was relatively busy but so very quiet & relaxing. Long hikes with our dogs along the River were a highlight. There are multiple spots along the River to and chill & claim your space for the day if you hike out a bit.

Campground was clean and workers were doing several jobs over the four days I was there. Restrooms were clean and showers were newly renovated.

Last years campsite was a 5 star, but this year, i would only give a 3 star only due to flooding in our campsite. Davidson River Campground is still my favorite. Friendly staff and clean bathrooms.

I wish they would leave the back loop at Davidson River Campground to first come first serve camping as they did in the past . This is more attractive to younger families who cannot plan a year in advance. I am nearly retired and so we can make reservations 6 months in advance. This would expand the camping experience to our future users of the National Forest system. PS Put in a cell booster. No service in this campground which creates significant safety issues!!!

Davidson River is a great campground in an amazing location near the river and many hiking and biking trails. Several trails, including the Art Loeb trail connect directly to the campground. The sites themselves are far enough apart to allow privacy, restrooms and showers are clean, and staff are friendly and helpful. While located within a short distance to trails, etc..., the campground is also really close to Brevard, NC with many restaurant and shopping options. All in all a really nice place.

We love camping at Davidson River. The campground is wonderful. The bathhouses are clean. The only reason for four stars instead of five is the management company - who will cancel your reservation at the last minute if they do not want to keep loops open.

You can only reserve a site 6 months or less prior to your planned camping trip. Pick your dates and sites well in advance, and make your reservation right at that 6 month prior to get the site you want when you want it. The full hookup sites go quickly. Good luck.
