Staff at the entrance were really nice and helpful. Sites were bigger than expected. Campground was very clean. Definitely will come back (from Greenville, SC),

Beautiful campground in an incredible forested wilderness with a gorgeous swimming hole and river for tubing.

Decent campground. This was our second time there. The bathrooms were clean and functional; however, with only one toilet, one urinal, one shower, and one sink in the men's room, it could be a little bit of a challenge with all of the other campers on the loop. Again, overall good.

I was only staying overnight before beginning a backpacking trip of The Art Loeb Trail. My car was parked at the northern terminus of The Art Loeb, and a shuttle service dropped me off at the southern terminus near the Davidson River Campground. So, all I had with me was my backpacking gear, and I would be sleeping in a tent. I reserved a site on the Poplar Loop, as generators are not allowed here, and I figured that things would be more quiet that way. It was a very nice site. All of the tent pads were nice and flat, which made for a pleasant sleeping experience. The loop also had a dumpster for trash and a bathroom with shower, hand soap and toilet paper included! I know that it might seem odd to make note of those things, but I was about to head out into the wilderness for three days where none of those things would be available! The night was peaceful and quiet. I would definitely recommend Davidson River Campground if you were looking for a good car or RV camping experience in the area.

Stayed only one day, but wish I could have stayed longer. Beautiful location close to a river that people were fishing and inner tubing on. Close to hikes, the ranger station, and short drive to waterfalls.

I was charged twice for making two reservations on consecutive nights because there were not two nights available on the same campsite. That was a bummer! Looks like if you are staying consecutive nights there would only be one reservation fee. Additional hooks in the showers would facilitate keeping a change of clothes dry. Irregardless of these two complaints, the Davidson River Campground is the best campground that I have ever stayed in.

Staff was not the friendliest. I understand no drive through a but it makes things very difficult to choose a site online only.

Campsite was clean and located close to everything.
