Cove Creek Upper Group Camp is located in the Pisgah Ranger District, National Forests in North Carolina (54 min southwest of Asheville, NC) with an elevation of 2,967 feet. The site is open all year. Prices start at $120.00 per night. Activities include biking, fishing, hiking trails.

Please be aware of road and bridge construction at the entrance to Cove Creek Group Camps (Upper and Lower). The USFS is working with contractors to make road and bridge repairs. The approach and entrance to Cove Creek will look different. There is a new temporary gate a short distance down the driveway. The same lock and combination code process is in place. Please allow extra time and use caution!

What a special place - remote, calm, trails, creek access, and a fire pit. This place will always hold cherished memories for our family.

Site looked great, especially towards the end of peak season. The water pump was not working when we stayed in April and it was not working on this trip either (September) -- so hopefully this can be fixed. I would plan for an outage just in case.

Upper Cove Creek Campground is set at a good elevation and is very peaceful. The stream crossing to access the site should not be attempted by small or low cars.

Everything was great. The field was clean and recently mowed. The out houses were clean. The only negative was that the well pump was not working. Bring extra water.

As usual the water did not work when we arrived. We have camped here for 45+ years. We also did not get a gate code until 6:00 PM on arrival day! But later that day someone did come and put a new lock and fixed the water. So that was good.

The stream crossings were much better than past years. The site was clean as usual. The well did not work and there was no hand sanitizer in the bathroom.

Would have been excellent except that once again there was no water available at the site. Upper Cover Creek. The pump house needs to be fixed.

The spot is perfect as usual. But yet again, the water did not work at all! We come several times a year, usually in the winter. Thought they would have the water situation figured out by now. Seems like we should get a refund for having to buy water!

Cove Creek is a fantastic area to camp. Be prepared for hikers to wonder through, but a great spot otherwise.
