We love this campground, it's our favorite place to come and relax and we love riding bikes into Brevard or hiking in Pisgah.

Friendly and knowledgeable campground staff. Super close to trails -- we were mountain biking and riding black mountain from the campsite is pretty awesome.

Campgrounds are nice. The only problem are the push buttons in the shower that can be annoying.

I couldnt make it and the refund function would mot process any of the three days for refund. I was too late for the first day but should have been able to get a two day refund. Davidson River is the best NC campground, the App not so much.

Campground was very well kept, restroom facilities clean and staff were friendly and helpful.
The only negative was a camper in 5th wheel who used a generator that was extremely noisy and could be heard from any point in our camping loop. Since temp was in the 30s at night the camper ran this generator most of the day which very was iritating and annoying.

As per the usual, there are nowhere near enough restrooms on site when compared to the amount of campers the campground is designed to accommodate. There is amazing hot water showers available. Thank you big time for the hooks in the shower area, but how about a little shelf or counter space? Our tax money would be more wisely spent on upgrading and enlarging the facilities in our parks, instead of the ridiculous amount squandered on foreign aid or social programs. Let’s spend more protecting our lands by providing adequate means of disposing waste.
The potable water taps in the dump/fill area were also broken. There are water fountains around the sites themselves to fill jugs and etc. Personally I could stand for the crows to be eliminated, giving the native birds more control (i find this to be a national problem though. I’m not a fan of crows, pigeons, or seagulls period).

Our stay at Davidson River Campground was very pleasant given the circumstances of a pandemic and significant tree clearance in Applegate loop, site 41, where we pitched our tent. Of course, neither was the fault of the campground. In fact, we appreciated being met by hosts who were wearing masks. Due to the pandemic, the nearby Nat'l Forest Visitor Center was unfortunately closed. The campground is conveniently near Brevard, where a grocery store and a Walmart are located in case supplies are needed. We enjoyed the trail that follows along beside the Davidson River at the edge of the campground, and continues on towards Brevard. The bath houses, although small, were numerous and regularly cleaned. The campsite had a nice small gravel tent pad and an asphalt driveway. The site was plenty large enough for us. We hiked to (or in a couple cases parked at) seven waterfalls, that were minutes away off Hiway 276 and FS Road 475. The foliage was wonderful in mid-October and the water was rushing. We had a good time.

We love the Davidson River Campground. I grew up spending time here with my parents, and my wife and I take our children now. This particular experience was less than we're used to- simply because the hose at our end of the campground didn't maintain the bathhouse facility. Once we brought it to staff attention, the OTHER hosts all pulled together and made sure it was cleaned, though. This campground really does show a sense of community- it feels like one of the last places in the US left over from our childhood. We love this place, and will continue to make memories here.
