This campground is amazing. There are no bad spots, but if you are fortunate enough to catch a site by the river then its extra special. This site was great for my family because we have toddlers and they loved to splash in the shallow water and hop over to the tiny island.

Love Elkmont! Sad that loops which could be in use are closed off. I was only able to do one night out of the three that I was in the Smokies for the Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage.

camp site is close to the restroom, which was kept clean. The ranger came early in the morning to clean and everything was clean and ready around 6:30 am.

Camped on a B tent site along the river, it was green, clean and peaceful. The rangers were extremely helpful. Having the store was a nice bonus, for the firewood and the ice cream. Would strongly recommend it to everyone looking to spend a few days at the GSMNP.

Very nice campground especially the site along the river. Would have been nice if more loops were open. The one loops were always booked and hard to get into. This could have something to do with the exceptional weather when we were them, not sure. We had to move 4 times in 4 days. All in all we loved being there.

The site was clean and ready for our arrival. We were within walking distance of the bathrooms which was really nice. We camped in our mini-van and had a great time. Everyone we encountered that worked there was very friendly.

I absolutely love this site by the rushing river. Very easy walk-in site with enough room to relax, fire-pit & view of the river. The peacefulness is supreme.

I really enjoyed this small campground; the only issue that I had was that the card reader was broken during our stay, so we werent able to buy firewood, which really put a wrench in our plans.

It was super fun! We ended up getting there late and set up tents in the dark, but it was a very nice campground. We stayed at A11, and it was almost hidden away from where everyone was driving, so it was peaceful. It was difficult to find the marking, as two big vehicles for the campground next to us were covering the signage for our campground. We found it eventually. It was a little difficult to find spare twigs and branches to start a fire. We also came on a weekend where it rained Saturday night into Sunday morning, and the rain added a nice soothing effect. We ended up leaving that morning instead of spending that day hiking just for safety. The campground was 20ish minutes from Gatlinburg, TN, so if we needed anything we forgot, it wasn't far away. All of our other neighbors on the campground were super nice and gave us advice on what hikes to do, one even lent us an axe to chop some wood. Elkmont is super central to some really cool hikes. The visitor center is also a short drive away, and everyone who worked there was amazing! I can't remember the guy's name who helped out our group, but he was buff, and he and his wife had several pictures of the hikes (she's a photographer), and he clearly knew exactly what was going on with each hike and area. He gave us great advice and actually showed us how to do three hikes in one (which hit all the trails we wanted to do). We didn't get to do what he recommended for Sunday, but we will be back to do that specific hike.

My 3 hiking friends and I enjoyed the convenience at Elkmont. We had plenty of room for our large and small tent ( a 6 person tent and a one person tent). Great having a picnic table and restroom closeby. It was so nice to take my friends hiking to the Avent cabin, Daisy town cabins, and Cucumber Gap loop. All closeby. The wildflowers were abundant! We normally backpack in the mountains so it was a treat to have our cars right there. We even took a supper time trip to Gatlinburg one night and Townsend the next. Staff at the check in were very friendly.

The site was terrific. I fell asleep with the sound of the river and was awakened by the sun cresting over the horizon. The rangers are great too. One even jump started my battery that went dead. Great experience

Elkmont is an excellent campground and we always enjoy camping there. But the reservation routine does not work. It's extremely difficult to get a reservation. Always, while camping during my reservation dates, the system shows the campground full in C and D loops. I checked the sites in these loops (again this year) during my reservation dates and 20% of them are empty. Why..??!! Also, half the campground is not open. Why?? Are you trying to limit the public experiencing their park? Get rid of the reservation system. Go back to first come, first served and open up all of Elkmont.

The campsite was very clean and the amenities were very nice for a national park campground

Incredible camp ground. No hookups means more work but its so worth it. D6 might be the most beautiful campsite I have ever visited. Directly on the water - I could see the river from the bedroom window of my RV. Partially shaded. 100% would love to camp here again.

This was great! We took a large group of college students camping, many of whom have never camped before. Everyone had a great time! Many also commented on how much they appreciated the cleanliness of the bathroom. I look forward to coming back next year!

Beautiful campground! 1 1/2 miles off of the main road. Very quiet. Nice tent pads. Running cold water and flush toilets. No bear boxes. We stayed in a walk-in tent site (B22), which was great.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.
