Loved this campground and wish we had stayed more than one night. Beautiful creek runs throughout the campground. Check in was easy and staff were very welcoming. I was not expecting flush toilets and the bathroom facilities were very nice and clean. We did have a rainy afternoon so we chose not to hike in the wet weather, but if we visit again we will check out the hikes near the campground. I also think this is a good central location in the park where you can visit either Cades Cove or Kuwohi. Would recommend this campground and would stay here again.

The park rangers were extremely friendly and helpful. There were trash cans and restrooms conveniently located close to our camp. We enjoyed the short hiking trails by the camp as well as the Little River close to camp. Beautiful area and perfect weather!

Big level site, access to bath, really nice experience.

We visited the Smokies the week of April 14 and spent 5 nights at Elkmont site D6. It was gorgeous! All outer edge sites are good. The best seems to be F6, though I didn't cross to the other side of the river. E sites on the water (those 5 or 6 away from D6) and F sites on the water are better for younger campers because you can get out on little rock beaches. D6 was better for seeing not putting your feet in. The camp hosts were great, the bathroom was clean, and we thoroughly enjoyed though the crowds at the trail parking "lots" made early mornings necessary!

No cell service at all, but great clean sites and restrooms. Nice little trails nearby, and really close to Sugarlands Visitor Center.

Rangers were extremely helpful and friendly. Campsite was in excellent condition and our stay was great.

The campground was very beautiful, easy to access and very well maintained. They sell wood at the campground store. About 20 min from Gatlinburg and 20 from Pigeon Forge.

Site I reserved was a great site except the restroom was locked and out of order. When checking in the rangers were informed site chosen because of being by restroom and did not have the courtesy to inform me it was closed. Very unhappy with their customer service.

Rained almost entire time. Camping in the rain and thunderstorms at Elkmont is better than being at work.Had site D1. Was terrific. Camp hosts and volunteers were terrific.

Facilities are good, and nice location as well. The camp store on site closes at 6 PM, so please plan accordingly. Also, foraging for wood is allowed, and there is plenty.

Great location, quite and peaceful
@MichaelB697476 · Camped on Mar 28, 2025 at Campsite #C5
The site was large and had privacy. Bathrooms were clean.

Elkmont is a great campground. We were there early season, so only the first loops were open. The B loop along the creek was quiet and really enjoyable. Local staff were great. In general, a top destination campground, and we'll be back again!
@MaxU0E308E8373 · Camped on Mar 21, 2025 at Campsite #B2
I always love staying here! The rangers are so kind and welcoming.
@LauraT9858616 · Camped on Mar 20, 2025 at Campsite #A4
Unfortunately loop B, though generator free, is abetted to loop C, which allows generators, which our neighbor ran for hours. Also, many very noisy "slingshots" traversing up and down the road extremely close to our site.
@PaulY3554563 · Camped on Mar 20, 2025 at Campsite #A6
We routinely stay at Elkmont CG. Granted, it's large with not a lot of privacy - but it is a NPS CG. Clean. Prefer the non-generator loop(s). A great base to fly fish the TN side of the park as well as hiking too.

Great location, not an easy walk to river but doable.
@RubyV563E906AC · Camped on Mar 18, 2025 at Campsite #A11
The campground was wonderful, the weather was standard for March, and the location was amazing. Elkmont is close to a lot of different trailheads that lets you pick and choose the length of your journey.
@StephanH67FDE0 · Camped on Mar 18, 2025 at Campsite #C10
We really enjoyed our experience at Elkmont. We were in site C10 with a 21 foot travel trailer and truck. We had plenty of room and the site was fairly level. Most of the sites are near the restrooms. The sites are laid out well and it didn't feel we were right on top of other campers.
@PaulM6940902 · Camped on Mar 15, 2025 at Campsite #D13
The campgrounds were extremely clean and well kept. Restrooms were spotless. It's quiet, roomy pads that help you feel like you are further away from others than you are .
@ThomasL2772337 · Camped on Mar 15, 2025 at Campsite #B4
Great location. Nice bathrooms. Onsite store to buy wood and small camping supplies if needed.
@EliB9155450236 · Camped on Nov 30, 2024 at Campsite #D6
We loved it. We stayed right on the river and its within walking distance of trails and short driving distance of a beautiful waterfall. Highly recommend

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
