Elkmont Campground is part of Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee (1 hr 17 min southeast of Knoxville, TN) with an elevation of 2,150 feet. There are a total of 211 campsites including 51 tent-only sites. The campground is normally open from mid March to the end of November. 160 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 12 and 54 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. 3 sites have electric hookups. Prices start at $30.00 per night. Some amenities include drinking water, restroom, amphitheater, firewood, flush toilets. Activities include fishing, hiking trails.

Walk-in tent campsites (B Section) was along the roads coming into the campground and up to various trail heads. Noise from large pickup trucks and open air rentals vehicles was present most of the daylight hours. The picnic table was covered in ash and charcoal. Truly a mess and unusable till it was scrubbed down. Obviously not inspected by campground officials after the last occupants. That was disappointing.

This campground is one of our favorite places ever to visit. This was our second stay and we extended it two extra days because we couldn't get enough. It will be a yearly tradition. Waking up and falling asleep to the sound of the river is so comforting. Even if you're not at a river front site you still hear it. The rangers and camp store host are so sweet. The bathroom stayed so clean. The campground was quiet and beautiful. It's a 7 mile drive to Gatlinburg, when you go right. Or take a left towards Cades Cove and the views and pull offs are incredible. There is no cell service, no showers, and no electric so prepare accordingly. You can drive a couple miles down the mountain to the pull offs and get service if needed. This campground is the best little gem in the Smokies.

Elkmont campground is beautiful in the fall offering many options hiking trails the old city next to the campground.

We had a wonderful three night stay at Elkmont. The facilities were always clean, the staff were friendly and helpful and our site was great. It was nice having the little store area which was well stocked with firewood and a few other items we needed as well. We would definitely stay here again!

I have been camping at Elkmont since I was a little girl. It is my go to campground for sure! I camp several times a year there either with family/friends or solo. Sites was well kept, bathrooms are clean and the campground/park staff are always so friendly. I give this campground 5 stars every time!

This campground is simply amazing! Good location surrouded by beautiful forest and creek, functioning facilities and close to town to buy grocery. I will visit again.

Beautiful campground with nice bathhouse (running water, flush toilets). Everyone was very friendly. Stars at night were amazing!

Great peaceful campground. Clean bathrooms. Only downfall is they said my kids couldnt have scooters (non-electric) ?! But bikes are ok to have? That I didnt get, but other than that everything was great! The ladies at the check in and camp store were so nice and helpful! The little river trail is great for kids! My kids really enjoyed getting to play in the water when we stopped for breaks when hiking (even though it was a bit chilly this time of year).

The Park Rangers are doing a fantastic job despite obvious cuts to staffing and maintenance. They are unfailingly cheerful and helpful.

Very clean and easy to navigate campground in a beautiful location. Lives up perfectly to the legacy of this park. Easy walkable access to many trails for lots of wildlife sightings. Staff was very helpful and friendly! Will 100% be back!
