Elkmount is a great option when staying in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The site was well maintained, and the level tent pad was a nice feature. This is a large rustic campground, yet the restrooms and dishwashing stations were cleaned daily. There's a decent camp store open until 6 pm.

Love GSMNP. We come here often. This campsite is very close to a road though the traffic was mostly gone after 7p . It's a shame the current administration does not recognize our np and their staff as the gems they are. Cutting staff and budgets means things don't get repaired in a timely manner. Please support our rangers in their efforts to keep our national parks safe and functioning.

Very friendly staff and rangers. Easiest check In and out ever, just remember you wont have any phone service in the smokies ! Maybe bring a map or pre download your navigation. Also elkmont nature trail is an absolutely gorgeous and fun hike next the the campground

The campground was very clean. The sites were well placed and level. We tent camped, so we stayed in tent area. Everyone observed quiet hrs and w the dense canopy it stayed dark in the morning til at least 7am. Bathrooms were clean, no hand soap or drying system for hands. The staff were nice. The only issue was this park pass issue. Be aware just because your staying in park and paying camping fees, you still need a parking pass to go anywhere in the park( as i was directed to do) . Also the last week's of October are extremely crowded. Traffic was terrible inside the park. Gatlinburg is not far and a place to go.

Bathrooms were clean.People camping were respectful and abided by quiet times.Access was easy and scenic.Volunteers running the grounds were helpful and polite.Appreciated the dish washing house.Central location, near attractions, gas, shopping, and hiking - but far enough away that you dont get the noise.

I stayed in a walk-in campsite, which was a very short distance from my vehicle. Do not let this deter you. The campsites were fairly large and sufficiently spread out. The bathrooms were a short walk away and clean enough for campground bathrooms. Despite being the busiest campground in the park, it was very quiet by approximately 8pm. It was conveniently located and less than 15 minutes into Gatlinburg. The Ranger at check-in was very kind and helpful, and there is a camp store on site that offers firewood, ice, and an assortment of toiletries. Would def stay here again.

The feedback review section will only allow me to go as far as the phone coverage (page 5 of 6) might want to fix that.

Elkmont is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a beautiful campground. We've made several trips there over the years, always tent camping. During every trip we've met friendly and interesting people from all over the country. It's close to Gatlinburg as well as many destinations in the Park. The staff is friendly and helpful.

There are only two items to bring up:
1) We knew about this, but the restrooms weren't working during our stay - only portable toilets.
2) Site B22 and sites nearby are elevated. You'll be going up and down stairs many times a day!
