Pros: Large campsites, lots of trees, clean bath houses, many trails accessible from the campground, very quiet, feel immersed in natureCons: Showers in bath house in Hemlock loop run out of hot water fast, no cell signal and too many trees for Starlink to work well

Great access to trails.

Prior campers had moved the picnic table to the middle of the tent pad. Whatever checks the staff make (any?) between campers, they should not have left it like that. And FYI, there are two hours between check out and check in.

We enjoyed our stay. It was nice that each loop of camp sites had their own bathhouse which were clean and in good condition. We really enjoyed the quiet time hours the quiet outdoor evenings. It was a nice safe place for our children to play next to our site.

Davidson River is our favorite campground. We have been coming here for the past 5 years and staying in the Hemlock Loop. The sites are wooded and spacious, there are multiple nice bathhouses, and plenty of drinking water access. My wife loves to trout fish while I relax with a book by the river. The Brevard area is full of great hiking, mountain biking, waterfalls, and breweries.

The campsites that back up to the river and the trail are incredible. Also, I have never seen a bathhouse so clean and consistently serviced. Amazing! Friendly staff. Amazing facilities. I highly recommend it. Hot water and reasonable quiet hours.

It was a great place for Camping. Sites were clean . Restrooms and showers were clean. I've been going there five years. Can't wait until the next trip. All staff and hosts were very nice and helpful. Again great place to go.

We had a great time at this campground! Clean facilities, lots of families with kids watching out for everyones collective safety, and the Ranger are Check-in was informative, kind and friendly. The swimming pool and the walk around the river were the cherry on top! There was a fire ring and picnic table at the camp site, and a flat pad to use. The site we stayed at was pretty close to neighbor sites so its limited on privacy, but everything else was fine.
@JamesB7853748 · Camped on Apr 14, 2025 at Campsite #87
Site was clean, weather was hot on Monday, windy and much cooler on Tuesday. Fish weren't bighting. No kids in the river on Tuesday. Staff is always helpful.

This is the best campground-the sites are beautiful and private feeling and there is so much extra space for biking, playing frisbee, walking the dogs. Also love that is situated right along the water, plenty of fishing and swimming. Can't beat being in the middle of Pisgah.

We always love camping at The Davidson. The campground is so pretty and wooded, we love being so close to the river and trails, and the staff has always been so friendly. It's a special place!

Excellent campground. We stayed in the 'no generator' loop, and were very happy with the location and the quiet. The campground is beautiful, and well worth a visit. Staff were very helpful and informative. Bathroom (on our loop, at least) was clean and well stocked. And the shower was actually warm!Highly recommended

We've tent camped at this campground twice. We enjoyed both of our visits. It is a very nice campground with a fantastic location and it gets *A LOT* of use. Despite the amount of traffic, the campsites and grounds are generally clean. Both times we've booked, we have only been able to reserve our electric site on the Sycamore loop. Sycamore is convenient as it is the first loop in the campground and appears to be a smaller loop than others. Be aware some Sycamore loop sites (especially 1, 2, and 3) are fairly exposed to noise related to the nearby campground entrance, can be visible to passing traffic, and the light pollution from the campground entrance can be an annoying distraction to some as the lights are on all night. Some campgrounds use directional lighting, a hedge, or a fence (yuck!) to address visibility and light pollution issues - we used a tarp which helped some.Campers should also be aware that the Sycamore bath house has 1 male and 1 female bathroom; both provide 1-bathroom stall and 1-shower stall. Because of the proximity of this campground to nearby hiking trails and the small size of the bath house, bath houses are sometimes unavailable to campers because of hikers. During one trip our bath house was occupied for about an hour by a hiking party unassociated with the campground. Bath houses are ok; could sometimes use a bit better cleaning. Never had a need to contact a campground host, but folks at the entrance have always been very nice and helpful. We'll be back.

Great campground, but bathhouse was not cleaned for first 4 days we were there.

Great area,lots to do and see. Only drawback was our bathroom facility in the sycamore loop. It was dirty,and cleaned only once while we were there 6 days.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
