Absolutely magical place with birds serenading your morning coffee and fireflies winking you to sleep. Loved it here and will return.

Our check-in was flawless and the gate keeper was cheerful and welcoming. We had a very good campsite on Laurel Loop #94. It was close to the bathroom and had lots of shrubbery between it and the next campsite for privacy. The gravel tentpad with cement border was what we like for our tent in case of rain. There was lots of birds singing at dawn. We didn't do any tubing this time, but we have before and it is very convenient to do so from the campground. It was prety warm so we didn't get a bundle of wood for $10, and we went into Brevard for more ice. We enjoyed walking at the trail across the road at the visitor center, as well as hiking at Pink Beds.

My family thoroughly enjoyed tubing down the river on their floats. We were in an excluded area, which was nice. We had an area that wasnt extremely excluded, but we still had fun and met some really nice people while we were there and we were close enough to shops to go get some souvenirs and T-shirts. The ladies out front helping us check in and out were awesome. Very helpful. Very convenient to get water and empty your camper when needed.

Beautiful area

Had a great time! Our area has great mix of shade and sunlight, river access, and close to bathroom and water. Tent platform is little low so not great if rains if tent camping as it floods.

Wonderful campground.

RV Site #5 was almost perfectly level - everything worked as it's supposed to. The Campground is neat and picked-up on a daily basis. Easy in and out, and we encountered no problems anywhere in the Park.

Nice campground with adequate space between campsites. Good easy or technical bike riding and same for hiking. Just minutes from Brevard with groceries, restaurants, bars and just about everything you might need. After camping here for over 50 years Im looking forward to the upgrades coming this winter. Quiets down in the evening for a peaceful nights sleep

Our stay at Davidson River Campground was, as always, wonderful. The staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming. Love to see the smiles at the gate after our 6-hour drive to get there! We've been camping here for over 30 years and even though the facilities date farther back from that, they were in good repair and functioning. We're excited to know new bath houses are coming this year, but even though the current ones are very old they were kept remarkably clean and well-stocked by the vigilant staff. Bryan Ellis and his wife do an amazing job of keeping the campground running smoothly and with a smile even though their own RV residence was badly damaged during Helene and is still undergoing repairs. Davidson River is our dream home away from home. Keep up the great work!

We love Davidson! The campsites are spaced out well so that you do not feel crowded, and most are very shaded keeping tents cooler! We love the proximity to Brevard and stores while also feeling like you are truly out in the middle of nowhere. Phone service is spotty, but again, thats something we love!

Definitely my new favorite campground. Very clean, private bathrooms and showers in the bathhouse. Very close to a large number of trails and only a short trip further to Dupont, Gorges and the BRP. We also enjoyed the trailheads from the campground. The location made it easy to grab food and ice from nearby Brevard. We are on Verizon and found it possible to text from our campsite to get weather updates as there is not a WiFi spot in the campground. The Pisgah Visitors Center across the road has an excellent gift shop and information available on trail conditions.

As always the campsite was very clean when I arrived. The staff here even cleans the old coals out of the fire pits. The hot showers here are always welcome after 4 or 5 nights of camping. The best thing about staying here is you're camping in Pisgah National Forest, but you can drive 5 minutes and be in Brevard for a hot meal, music or a cold beverage if you want to indulge in more modern conveniences.

Lovely, well run campground. Staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Excellent access to Pisgah Ranger Station and trails in the area. I spent some time fishing along the Davidson river which was beautiful. Highly recommended.

I love this campground. The only difficulty we had was that we had reserved two sites, probably only needing one (I should have cancelled one of them before we came, but thats on me), and there was a big group essentially squatting in site 30. Our part fit just fine in site 28, but I was disappointed that the group in 30 apparently lied when they told me that theyd paid in the box for that site when I mentioned that I had it reserved. I was pleased with the refund we got for the second night, but am concerned with what would have happened had we arrived with only one site reserved, and found it full of squatters. That seems to be a liability of the late check in process, or lack the roof.

Right on Davidson River for tuning and fishing Staff are friendly and helpful, however loop Dogwood, camp host could do a much better job with the bathhouse! We went to two other bathhouse onsite and they were very clean

Great time at a lovely campground. Fellow campers were courteous and warm showers an absolute treat. Proximity to bike trails can't be beat!

We were there during the week and it was quiet and lovely weather. We like the close access to the town of Brevard too.

Great campgrounds! Great paved paths for young kids on bikes. We didnt have a lantern hook at this site 108, and I didnt see one at 107 either, but it was a nice and secluded spot. Saw quite a bit of poison ivy.

Always a great experience here. Clean sites, including fire ring. Restroom was clean, stocked with TP. Informative staff at the gate.

Five stars almost all the way. Campsites are pretty widely separated, with lots of brush and trees between sites. The pavement could use some maintenance, but it doesn't interfere with your enjoyment of the campground. The bathrooms could seriously use a facelift - everything worked, but it's starting to feel pretty dated and a little sub-standard compared to other USFS campgrounds. Still, it's one of my favorite campgrounds and one I'll return to as often as I can! Love that it's a generator free loop!Scenery: ANoise level: AFacilities: BOverall vibe: Very chillReturnability: A+

Davidson River is our favorite place to camp. Staff are very friendly. I was glad to read you are updating the shower houses as they are not ADA compliant now.We like to watch everyone at sliding rock, we go to the Cradle of Forestry every visit and of course Looking Glass Falls! We live in Indiana and are in our seventies but make the trip once a year.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
