We love being able to walk to the visitor center and get on the shuttle bus. Shade is indeed a relative term as we had trees in our site but they had not yet leafed out like some others. For tent campers, showers are available at Zion Outfitters just outside the entrance (short walk across the pedestrian entrance is an easy way to get there).

Watchman Campground is a perfect home base to explore Zion National Park. Once youre in the park you dont have to deal with the long lines waiting to get in.

Campground had a lovely natural setting and was well maintained. Close to shuttle and some shops. Highly recommend.

We had a walk in tent site and it had a nice pergola and a shade tree. The fire pit was shared and that was a great way to meet other campers. Some of the sites didn't have shade trees which on a hot day would be unfortunate. Our site F04 didn't have any roads nearby so it was quite with a direct view of the Watchman.

The Watchman Trail near the campsite was great. It was not on our lists of hikes to do but it was one of the better one and less traffic.

The site was nicer than in the photos shown and appear to have been slightly renovated since. A short walk to the bathrooms, but I didnt mind since we stayed one night. Food storage boxes were new and clean. Site had gravel/rocks so keep that in mind if camping with a tent. Check in was super easy and its very close to the visitors center. Bathrooms were well lit and clean as well. The accessible restrooms automatic door opener didnt work in the restroom we went in.

The setting is stunning. No need to rush in early to grab a parking spot at the visitor centeryou have one with your campsite.No showers. Potable water available near restrooms.

The campsites were good sizes. The campground was generally pretty quiet. We loved the "no generators" rule! Bathrooms were clean and warm. But, the best part was walking distance to the shuttle.
