The camping sites are clean, well developed, the restrooms are clean and convenient for campers. The only thing difficult is to reserve more than 1 night.

The sites are near together but you cant beat the closeness to zion! Wake up at your own pace and still have parking in the canyon (If youre here in the off season with no shuttles). I woke up at 8:30, then arrived to angels landing parking in the grotto, on 2/28 at 9am with plenty of parking left. The next day drove just 20mins to the east rim trailhead on a beautiful morning.

We had a great time; getting off the shuttle and having our campsite right there was so lovely. The restrooms and dish washing station were clean and well-kept.

Simply amazing. Camping feels peaceful despite relatively close park entrance/Springdale. Wildlife (deers, squirrels, chipmunks) at your fingertips - follow the park/campground rules! We liked our site.

I’ve been coming to this campground for years now. The sites are reasonably spaced. The restrooms well kept. The tent campsite parking has just enough space for two cars. The pads are gravel over very hard packed dirt and I’ve switched out to pretty beefy tent stakes over the years. This is both to be able to hammered in and because it’s pretty common for the wind to go howling in or out of the canyon as the temperature changes from day/night/day.

There is significant wildlife in the campground. Deer and squirrels will absolutely rummage through a site and chew into a tent. It is imperative that food be stored in a car and/or a hard sided lockable containers. Some years there’s been Yellowjacket wasp activity and they seem to show up the moment any food is out.

The quick access to the visitor center, the shuttles, and Springdale make this an ideal location to base a Zion trip from.

The biggest mistakes I’ve seen people making here over the years are food storage and only staying one or two nights.

If your trip doesn’t take you up to the East side of the park it’s absolutely worth driving over there for a short jaunt. At least go as far as Checkerboard Mesa and then back.

Have a great time and Leave No Trace! Learn about cryptobiotic soils and protect them by not walking off trails/hard surfaces.

This campground was great. I felt comfortable here. Facilities were clean. There was potable water on site. Views were amazing, and star gazing from my tent was also a plus.

I had rented two campsites for my family. One was c022, which was nice. However the campsite C017 which is near the restrooms was a little annoying. We were by the bathroom which is shared by the group campsite. And all night the people at the group campsite were partying And just being super loud by the bathrooms. They definitely aren’t seasoned campers because they didn’t respect the 10pm “quite time” that most campers adhere to. Also people kept cutting through our campsite in the middle of the night. The other campsite that I had rented didn’t have this problem at all. They said it was very peaceful and quite all night. Overall I would camp here again, but probably not so close to campsites that can be closer to the group campsite sites.

We stayed for one night at site C22. Our reservation was for two nights, however, when we returned from our morning hike up The Narrows, it was 102 degrees in our site. This site gets full sun in the afternoon and there is no available shade. There are a few big trees behind the site, but there isn’t room to enjoy their shade. The sites are very close together. We ended up leaving early. It is a well maintained campground and the bathrooms are clean. Be prepared to store all of your food and trash in hard sided containers with lids or in your car. The deer are fearless and will come into your site to eat whatever is available, even while you are there. Also, you can’t hang a hammock in this site. The nearby trees have signs prohibiting hammocks.

We were in C-22 and C-24. There was shade in the morning, but because the trees were on the east side of the campsites, there was no shade in the afternoons at all. Bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. Squirrels were very aggressive and chewed a hole in one of our tents to get a jar of coconut oil. Another squirrel chewed a hole in a backpack, to get at a napkin I had forgotten to throw away. Deer also got into our trashcan. You cannot leave anything out unsupervised. Hiking the Narrows was fantastic. Highly recommend renting the shoes and hiking sticks. Angel's Landing was too crowded and dangerous. It was hot, and we took a day trip to Bryce Canyon (less than 2 hour drive), where it was 15 degrees cooler. Overall, a beautiful location and a great trip. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend Watchman Campground.

Absolutely loved our stay!! Site 22 on c loop. It got morning shade but mostly full sun until around 7pm. But it was plenty spacious and had great views of the mountains. Great for star gazing!! We will definitely stay here again.

Great campsite. Very clean (site and toilets). Very friendly staff. We've been there during Feb'12 and all sites were equipped with the fire wood on the house. Also, the location is perfect.
