Good and convenient, got there late at night and it was easy to find the place and hook up the RV.

This campsite was lovely! Would highly recommend hiking up the nearby Watchman Trail for sunrise in the mornings! Moderate elevation gain and great views.

We spent lots of time in the river behind our campsite keeping cool on inner tubes and sitting in the water. We also went on the Riverwalk to get cool. One day a thunderstorm came through while we were waiting for the tram getting everyone drenched but it provided wonderful waterfalls.

It’s hard to get a site at the Watchman campground but it’s totally worth the effort.

We loved our 1 night stay at Watchman Campground during the 3rd week of March. It was early season so most of the seasonal businesses were still closed but that kept the number of tourists down though it was still quite crowded along the road through the park. The campground was clean and all in working order; NPS does a superb job at campground facilities and maintenance; great job!

We very much enjoyed our visit to Zion. There were two things that would have made the experience even better. Several of the bathrooms in Watchman campground were closed. We were told there wasn't enough money to hire someone to clean them. As a tent camper I feel that a bathroom within a reasonable walking distance is a necessity. The second issue was with just a few of the bus drivers. Most of the drivers talked into the speaker system giving information about the hiking trails and informing us about the names of the rock formations, as well as a history of how they got their names. Others said absolutely nothing!!! One driver was singing and dancing in her seat to music she had playing as she was driving, that was scary. A couple of the drivers were just rude when we asked a question. The information staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. They had a lot of patience ('m sure with the same questions being asked over and over) with people lined up almost to the entry door. This is a wonderful park for hikers. Unless you to arrive before 9 am or have a campsite, plan to park in town and take a shuttle into the park. There are very few parking spaces for the amount of visitors.

View of Zion peaks is great. Restrooms are clean with soap dispenser. Nearby restroom is closed which was little inconvenience. We carried portable fridge and was really helpful in hot weather since it has power hookup. River is close by and kids enjoyed playing in the river. Only downside I felt is lake of enough trees and couldn't stay in the site every afternoon due to heat from direct sunlight on the site.

Phenomenal park and lovely campground. Spacious sites.

Loved the campground, especially the site I had. My only issue is that the restrooms near us were closed - looks like for a significant period of time - and the only option was to walk quite a distance to the next one. Is there a way to manage this downtime better? It was quite uncomfortable for the older members of my party....

I have been visiting Zion National Park off and on for over 60 years. Staying in the Watchman Campground is always a very special experience. Easy access to the Visitors Center, Springdale shopping and dining, magnificent trails and just the splendor of the park.
Our campsite was comfortable and included electricity for our class B van which makes the visit that much easier.
Can’t wait to come back!

PROS
Good Sprint reception—able to FaceTime
Insanely gorgeous views—nicest out of any campsite I’ve been to.
Very close access to a river
Walking distance to shuttles
Close access to fountain water and bathrooms
Beautiful night sky
Metal tables, so you can use your portable stove on it
I car camped and left my windows open in July and got no mosquito bites (your mileage may vary).

CONS
Men’s bathroom had broken locks in both stalls.
No showers or laundry.
No campfires allowed depending on time of year
Not much seclusion from other sites, but I didn’t mind

TIPS
I don’t think it’s much different from South Campground if your stuck deciding.
C003 has very nice views and is a short walk from main attractions. B051 is further out—a bit of a small walk. Loop A is closest to shuttles. South Campground 057 is also a good spot in terms of walking distance.

VERDICT
Would definitely return if in Zion again.

Nicely laid out campground, very well maintained sites, clear facilities. Close to ranger station, shops, cafes and restaurants. Couple of hiking path directly from campsite, otherwise centrally located for excursion into Zion canyon, or surrounding areas.

Only negative were some inconsiderate campers not wearing masks in the shared bathrooms.

The campgrounds are busy but quiet. Bathrooms are super clean. It was great to walk the loops at night and see all the different camping options.
