The campground was very nice, clean and well laid out. I was concerned about three things, however, 1) if youre not back by 10 PM the gate is locked and you cant get in. 2) there doesnt seem to be any campground host checking on the campers. For example the people next to us at one campsite were up till 2 am playing loud music. Moved to another campsite and the people next to us left an unattended campfire, which is illegal and, it burnt and smolder for at least four hours. No campground host was around. In fact, we were there for one week and didnt even see a campground host. Maybe theyre not responsible for things I just stated. I happen to work for a federal campground for a few years and always monitored the campers and especially the campfires. thats my take.

BEAUTIFUL Campground! Very well maintained. Plenty of shaded sites. Nice user friendly boat ramp with courtesy dock. The only thing that would improve the campground is a sandy beach.

Love this park my only wish is that dog parents would pickup after their animals. Most are wonderful about this, but there are always the few that forget. Nothing like stepping in fresh poo. The park is very nice and the hosts wonderful.

Our lot was big and had a view of the lake. Beautiful lake and close to stores and restaurants.

We were looking forward to the weekend camping. Upon arrival we saw that the pictures online did not match the site (93). The tree in the picture is gone and nothing but a stump. The roof on the picnic table is gone so we had no shade whatsoever. We ended up leaving only after one day.

Great view of the lake, awesome sunsets, nice bath house. Site 27 is a 90 degree site, but it's doable in a 41' 5th wheel with no issues. Clear sky for Starlink if needed at the back of the site. Relatively level site and convenient to the walking paths.

It was a wonderful experience. It was closer to flowermound and the site is flat. We took 52 and 54 for 3 tents

We always like staying at Hickory Creek. Wed like it better with a few full hookup sites.

Overall we really enjoyed our experience, price is very reasonable. The bathrooms could be updated and litter along the lakefront could also use some attention

The campground was awesome, quiet & clean. Garbage dumpsters nearby. Lots to to do in the area!

Campsite was Ok, the bathhouses were horrible. First was long walk to either bathhouse and second was the facilities once you were in. Most of the showers were boarded up, and the toilets were stainless steel with no seats. I have stayed at quite a few COE parks and this was by far the worst. I do not recommend this park even for an overnight stay.
@KatherineD2D10 · Camped on Apr 26, 2025 at Campsite #17
The view from our campsite across the lake was great. Everything was clean. My only complaint was the long walk to the bathroom. I guess you have to decide if you want a view or the bathroom close.

One of the nicest parks in the North Texas area. I enjoy the privacy and the fact there is no day-use for non-campers.

Generally quiet in my experience, although I purposefully camp during the week vs. the weekends. I love having shopping and restaurants nearby. During my last visit, I had two families of ducks entertain me at the water's edge. So cute!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
