We stayed at campsite 047 and absolutely loved the stunning views of the lake with the city in the background. The grounds were spotless and clearly well maintained. The only thing missing was proper water drainage, but overall it was still a fantastic experience.

There are lights at each campsite that are kept on all night; the lights draw in the insects and created a hoard of mosquitos around our camper. There were a lot of off leash dogs that would sometimes wander into our campsite. The grass was cut low and the campsites were clean. The bathrooms were not kept in good condition. The water was pleasant, but high in June. We did see a lot of healthy deer which was fun.

Campground allowed a daily party of 30 to 50 people on adjoining site. We notified park office and they said it was Ok. If you want a quiet family camping site, this location will not enforce limits on sites and allows visitors without limits. Camp Host directly across the street and they ignored the flagrant disregard of common courtesy and campsite rules. Hickory Creek has always been one of our favorite campgrounds but we never had the need to view their response to an issue until now. Their response was deplorable.

We love Hickory Creek for tent camping. Great spaces, easy access to restrooms, and beautiful landscape! Often see deer and other wildlife.

We camped here with our fifth wheel in #47. This is our favorite spot for us and our two goldens. We had great lake breezes every day, and our goldens enjoyed their twice daily swim. We were right across the road from the park hosts, David and Tracy. These two were so friendly, and I visited with them almost every time when I took the dogs for their walk. The area they were responsible for was kept really clean and mowed.

I love this spot for sure. Camping, lake, hiking trail, the feel of Dallas near by is nice to me. I loved the showers and the grills are really nice. It felt like nature and pristine at the same time. I will go again soon. I had a wonderful view of the sunrise and it has a little view of the highway which is super dope, barely hear the cars, i heard more of the boats on the lake playing their music... at night very quiet. The spot that I was in was really windy on my tent, which was nice because of the heat. People were nice too. Very happy about my stay here.

Great park. We had a lakefront 50 amp spot. Will return again. Would be 5 stars if sewer was available.
