We love Cranes Mill Park. The sites are large, and some have shade. They are very close to the lake and offer a different but gorgeous sunrise and sunset each day. The campers are quiet, Showers & RR are clean, and the staff is helpful.

The people managing the park are always nice, and the park is kept super clean. Not many trees at the camp sites, but that's really the only downside (may not be a negative for everyone). We love staying here.

The water and electric at the primitive campsite is a nice perk. There are other activities in the area and a great location.

The property was extremely unkempt and we had to leave the campsite, our dogs couldn't even lay on the grass. stickers, and piles, bugs, scorpions etc.No acces to the lake at all due to high vegetation cactus and high grass.. Not going back there or recommending this place to anyone..

Cons- Not much to do. No working fishing pier to fish off of. Photos are website show water a lot higher than it really is. Pros- clean and flat sites.

Friendly staff that help you get booked in and answer any questions you have. Well maintained sites, grass cut water and power working ect. Very affordable rates as well. Even has showers with actual hot water.

Decided to do a weekend getaway for our family the first weekend in April. Restrooms were clean with no issues and the campsite was well maintained.Due to low lake levels fishing wasn't much of an option, but we still had a great time exploring and chilling at our campsite.

We love Cranes Mill. Site 14 is our favorite spot. Plenty of room between sites, great covered picnic tables, and friendly gate staff. While it is a small park there are many things in the area to do. If you are lucky enough you may spot a glimpse of the wildlife in the area (deer, fox, birds).

Park host was very specific om all details, and times.Thew was down about 30 feet, with no real trails to the water. Spoke with a few fellow campers and they this was a great area to tour the Texas Hill country.

Beautiful, quiet, clean and great views. We were there for 4 days and plan to return. Easy back in with nice long sites. Several if not all have double parking and many are very room. Great park. Highly recommended.

Very nice spacing between sites and great restroom!

We selected this site as it is centrally located to many fun Hill Country towns in the area. Site was spacious, with room for fifth wheel, pickup and an extra vehicle. Lake is down 48% but we were not there for water activities. Hookups were sufficient, showers clean, sites clean. Would stay longer if full hookups were available. Will return if in the area again.

Absolutely a perfect place of peace and quiet. Campsites were well spaced and included a covered picket table. Probably the cleanest and well kept COE recreation area you will ever visit. The trail down to the lake was well marked and recently groomed. The lake level is very low, but South Texas is suffering from 3 year drought.
@TomP3330669 · Camped on Feb 20, 2025 at Campsite #11

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
