We stopped and bought $30 worth of wood. There were no sign on website, or gate that said fire ban. We almost started a fire but went to restroom and there in the door was a sign for fire bans. What a waste. We had to leave 30 dollars worth of wood, no room to carry in the rest of our trip. Would not come back here

The location was extremely hard to find. We spent hours driving around trying to find it. We arrived well after the gate was locked. Our Garmin took us to a nearby place based on the address found on the Cranes Lake COE website. The campground itself was not in the Garmin data base.It took two digital maps and the Garmin to finally find the location. I now have it in my save locations in my Garmin.

No attendant at gate; Attendant notes stuck abstractly on board to pick up windshield sign and go to assigned space. As we proceeded to our space, a Day group of 10 were cooking and picnicking in our reserved space; They moved immediately to another nearby space to continue using facilities; Told us they came in because no attendant at gate. We stayed 4 nights; Bathhouse toilets had mildew rings around water line and little to no toilet paper the entire stay. This was a holiday weekend so surely management expected an increase in visitors using facilities. First time in 5 years of visiting, we were disappointed to find little supervision over Cranesmill Park.

We left the campgrounds within an hour of arrival. After talking to other campers at the site, we found out that there is NO ENTRY after hours (9pm). One of the guests stated there should be a keypad for reentry after hours, but that was not the case. The website was misleading about this matter. Not being able to return after 9, or walking over a quarter mile from gate to site with a handicapped wife after hours was totally acceptable.The nice woman from the help desk that called me back was very understanding. She even offered to put in the request for a refund, even though I knew it was beyond the deadline. She was very pleasant. But as expected, I received a denial notification. But that was the risk I took when I signed up for that place.I do question whether I will take advantage of those accommodations again.

The park was very well kept. The boathouse came in handy during a sever thunderstorm and F-1 tornado that touched down across the lake.

We love Cranes Mill Park. The sites are large, and some have shade. They are very close to the lake and offer a different but gorgeous sunrise and sunset each day. The campers are quiet, Showers & RR are clean, and the staff is helpful.

We have stayed at Cranes Mill campground many times over the years and it is always enjoyable. It took a little bit of time after we arrived to adjust the site. We needed to move from the one we first picked to a different spot. We were not able to get our motor home level so we found out which sites were still available and were able to relocate to the other site. We did not have much time to enjoy the park as we were using the facilities to visit our terminally ill nephew in Kerrville. Our stay was also interrupted by an accident between our car and a pickup just outside the park which totaled it. We were able to extend our stay long enough to get our car to a place where it could be adjusted for the insurance company. We finally got a rental car and were able to make it home near Ft.Worth. I hope to return to visit the campground when we are able to really enjoy the facilities again as we have in the past.

The people managing the park are always nice, and the park is kept super clean. Not many trees at the camp sites, but that's really the only downside (may not be a negative for everyone). We love staying here.

The water and electric at the primitive campsite is a nice perk. There are other activities in the area and a great location.

The property was extremely unkempt and we had to leave the campsite, our dogs couldn't even lay on the grass. stickers, and piles, bugs, scorpions etc.No acces to the lake at all due to high vegetation cactus and high grass.. Not going back there or recommending this place to anyone..

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
