We love Cranes Mill Park. The sites are large, and some have shade. They are very close to the lake and offer a different but gorgeous sunrise and sunset each day. The campers are quiet, Showers & RR are clean, and the staff is helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The park and the view of the lake are really nice. The care takers take pride in this place and it shows.

Very nice campground. Plenty of room between sites. My only suggestion would be to increase the water flow in the showers. It was so little it was difficult to wash the soap out of one's hair.

Most horrible experience Ive ever encountered at a USACE park in my lifetime, n and I have camped at these 3-4 times a year in the past 30 years. My family had 3 sites for Easter weekend (Thurs - Sun) with a large number of young children for our annual Easter celebration and Easter egg hunt. The first night we were kept awake by loud music and a very loud vocal campers. Contacted the Park Ranger next morning and talked to folks at gate. The next night these folks quieted down at 10 pm, but another group took over with loud music etc. until 3:00am in the morning, at which time I contacted the sheriffs dept. They came out and quieted them down about 4:00 am. The next day another group started with the VERY loud music and loud party time voices/noise all day. The music was blaring rap and hip hop with lyrics that were not appropriate for young children. We could not even hear ourselves talk to each other it was so loud. I went to the gate and complain about the noise. The park host came by a little later and asked how were doing. We had a long discussion at which time he contacted the Person in charge of the USACOE parks in the area. He advised he would speak with the group and make sure the noise would be shut down at 10 pm, which certainly didnt help what was going on then. After he spoke with them, the group responded by turning up the volume. At 9:30pm that night we had had enough and began packing up all 3 sites. We finished packing at about 10:30pm and by then they had actually stopped the loud music, but not the loud voices and other activity. We left the park at about 10:45pm and made it home about 4 am. As I said this was a first for me at these parks. The park rangers normally maintain complete control of activities in the park so that everyone have an enjoyable experience. If I wanted to go to a rap or hip hop concert I would pick a different venue. Not a USACOE Park.

Very good! I especially like the distance between the sites. It would be nice if Cranes Mill offered WiFi. I don't think it would be expensive. Question: There seem to be MANY more open sites than are indicated on the Cranes Mill Web site. Why is that?

The people that work and volunteer here are the best always ready to help in any way I give them a ten.
not like the people at potter creek across the lake from crains mill the last time i stayed there was the rudest and unhelpful that why I move to cranes mill.

A very nice park with nice boat ramp, RV hookups and shower and restroom facilities. The two ladies that I had contact with at the main entrance were very courteous. My only complaint is that the shower and restroom building needed to be cleaned, and remained dirty the three days that I was there.

Very very very windy, couldnt put my awning out, tent site was closed. Bathhouse has 2 dirty toilets with no toilet paper dispenser, it was so frustrating to pull toilet paper out of this weird metal bar they had, where it doesnt roll, shower was ok. There was a fire ban in the county so no campfire was allowed which made my stay even worse. I booked for 2 nights but end up leaving after just 1 night. Also, make sure to get there at 3 to check in, they wont let you in before 3.

RV Sites are well separated. Washhouse was clean. No way to reenter the park after 10Pm. No gate code.

I went to Cranes Mill because I needed to go camping after being on lockdown for way too long watching 5 of my scheduled trips get cancelled because of the pandemic. I absolutely loved staying at the lake. The weather was perfect, and I spent most of my time hiking the park roads taking pictures of birds. It was the most refreshing 4-night camping trip I have ever had. The park was clean. It was crowded, but everyone maintained social distancing. I can't think of a negative thing to say about my trip.

This park is quiet and a great place for families with kids who ride bikes! Our kids rode all over the park and cars go slow and everyone watches out for the kids. We stay here regularly and never have had a bad experience. The showers & bathrooms are clean and well stocked. There is access to the lake to swim even if you don't have a boat. The boat ramp with courtesy dock are great and accommodate even large boats when the lake is up.

The checkin at the entrance was unpleasant because the older man in the hut was extremely unfriendly and inflexible. It went like this:1. Arrival at the gate ... opening of the park in 20 minutes ... had to stop the 10.5 t truck backwards ... driving around his hut was not allowed ... were 20 minutes tooearly ... the barrier stayed down.2. When we came back after 20 minutes he asked for the reservation (not at our arrival for sure) ... we didn't have cause we didnt no....our problem... we had to stop backwarts again3. since we no longer had any data volume for the cellphone, we asked if he had wifi .... he supposedly didn't have it .... so we had to book expensive data .... he could surf the internet while ... the word "help" was unknown to himAll in all a very decent place ... but not recommended as long as the sergeant at the gate works. Other campers had similar experiences

The park is nice and has easy access to the lake. The site we were on was not flat. it slopped pretty good to the road. I was luck i had enough blocks for my tongue jack to level out the trailer. Overall i would go back but find a more flat site if possible.

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
