The park was immaculate, quiet, very nice level site and the park hosts very friendly and helpful! We will definitely recommend it to others and will stay again when we are in the area.

Park host was very specific om all details, and times.Thew was down about 30 feet, with no real trails to the water. Spoke with a few fellow campers and they this was a great area to tour the Texas Hill country.

beautiful facility- Canyon Lake was very cold and very little water but very restful and peaceful quietness

Great park. sites have concrete pads. Fairly close but it's ok. Showers were great. Easy back in sites with water and elect. Dump station upon leaving the park. Very open area. Plenty of walking or biking within the park. The closed section is great for both. Not much near by. Be sure to visit the Heritage museum and view some real dinosaur tracks and artifacts. You will be in hill country. The lake is to low for boating.

We enjoyed the stay very much but being workcampers and former business owners, we felt that the campground was miss managed... The whole tent area was shut down but there was a host in the area keeping an eye out. Should this area been open even just for day use the amount of revenue would have greatly increased. We were also disappointed in the cleanliness of the restrooms... although the cleaning is contracted out it was poorly maintained. We will go back as it is a nice and quiet campground, just wish the bathrooms would have been better.

The RV area of the park is small, but has nice level sites. The gate closes at 9pm, and there is no access code, so if you go out you need to be back by 9 or park outside the gate overnight and walk into the park. The bathrooms and showers were ok, though weren't cleaned well over the 4 days we were there, with debris and bugs on the floor.

I have 2 dogs with me and I follow the rules by keeping them on a lease and picking up their poop. That is is not the case with everyone. People with large dogs dont pick up after their dogs. This practice is filthy. Rules of the campground are meant for everyone. This park is a beautiful park and I enjoy camping here. The park staff are friendly and helpful. San Antonio is close plus there is lots of things to do. I have visited this park for the past eight years. I will be back.

Great park with good views. Sites are easy to set up for a travel trailer and there’s some distance between them. Highly recommend!

Our site 17 was on the water with a great view. we had good satellite reception and tmobile was good too. The location is handy to visit the many towns nearby. Gruene, Fredricksburg, Dripping Springs. The Starz Cafe and the Italian restaurant in Starzville are good places to have lunch. Auslander German restaurant in Fredricksburg is good as well as the WW II museum. Gruene is a good place for shopping and dining as well as going to Gruene Hall for live music. Lots to do and see in the area.

We stayed in Loop 1, site 17. The concrete pad was level and offered excellent view sitting by the lake. The attendants were very friendly. So close to family when we come, we’ll definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our 10 days here. Great place to walk and watch the deer. The bathrooms didn’t get the attention they needed by any means and not sure anyone cleaned them the entire stay. The volunteers (work campers) would let their dogs out to do their duty as they pleased which is very aggravating to us who follow the rules. We saw this on numerous occasions and from different volunteers. The park is beautiful but not as manicured as some of the other Corp parks we have stayed.

Very nice park and kiosk host.. only complaint we have is that park locks down with no entrance after 9.. we had event we had to leave in order to get back to rv without leaving our truck outside gate.. other parks have a key code to allow entry.. please consider this.. thank you

Big spaces, covered picnic tables, level ground and clean park. Not much to do unless you use the boat ramp. No swimming, no good fishing area, no walking trails.

Great campsites
@CraigJ170 · Camped on Feb 4, 2021 at Campsite #17
Very clean and well taken care of. Only negative was overhearing one of the hosts that has his trailer permanently on the point talk about how masks weren’t really needed because the government was making Covid up. I don’t really think he should get to park his RV year round on government land that is supported by taxpayers when he has this vocal attitude. I’m a nurse and this makes me mad. He needs to spend time in hospitals and nursing homes.

The sites are clean and well spaced. Campers have ready access to the nearby fishing pier. The restrooms were well maintained and are centrally located for all camp sites. And the staff is helpful and very friendly. The park is also located close to town if case you need supplies or more groceries. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning soon.
