My firewood and hatchet got stole the first day when I was out. People suggested Iinform the camp host. She had a notion who it might be so I asked that person if he actually saw anyone take the wood. He described the car which led me to the campsite where the wood was. The man was very apologetic and returned wood and hatchet. I went to tell the host about the turn around and mentioned that if the host still clipped the names and dates on each camp site post, maybe this wouldnt have happened. She immediately got angry and said I was wasting her time off (7:15 in the evening). The next day I left a note that I would return to my reserved campsite that night. When I returned, the note was gone and so was the wood. I always thought a host was available at all times.Evidently not! BTW, the outhouses were sparkling

Beautiful site and friendly host. Our favorite part was a hike in Limekiln Park just north of the campground and was recommended to us by the host. We should have been better prepared for the fog and mist though! Everything got very wet including our tent and we had to pack it up damp the last day and air it out at our next stop. Beautiful location though.

Camp Site 12 was excellent.

A delightful retreat situated immediately off the PCH but quiet and peaceful thanks to the reduced traffic this year. A distinct slope means that just about all of the sites offer a challenge for tent campers to find a level area but this is Big Sur and the slope is part of the fun.Portable toilets have replaced the permanent washrooms, they are cleaned daily and serviced weekly so no complaints but it would be nice to see the proper facilities brought back into operation. Our hosts were friendly and helpful when "on duty" , firewood is available and campfires permitted. There are always walk-in / cycle-in sites available despite the "camp full" signs that adorn the gates.

It's a nice campground in a beautiful location on the California Central Coast. The only draw back is the limited amount of flat tent spaces.

It's a very pretty campground with nice trees. So nice that it's easy to walk to the beach. The camp hosts were friendly and helpful. The only downside was that currently there are only porta-potties, because there's some sort of water problem such that the actual bathrooms are closed. But there was potable water available from the spigots, so that's better than having to bring all of your own water, at least.

Always liked this campground. Nice spacing between sites. Nice location. Host was kind of strange though.

We stayed at campsite 10, which was elevated and at the corner, so we didnt have other campers right on top of us. The camp hosts, Katie and James, were amazing. They were super helpful and provided tips about things to do in the area. They were extremely friendly and we heard them giving everybody that came into the campground helpful information.

Campsite was beautiful as always. Host was very friendly and helpful. Limekiln was an great destination and day hike/walk. The only downside was the porta-potties. They are only emptied once a week and are very full after the busy weekends!

Our camp hosts were incredibly kind. They were friendly when we arrived and expressed their concern when we returned late on night. I could see Katy going around camp and socializing with other campsites. The grounds are well maintained, and there are currently porta potties instead of full bathrooms. Nice beaches only a 5-15 minute drive north of the site. Overall very lovely!

Campground is well maintained, and host is very friendly and informative. Restrooms are not open at this time but portapotties are provided (no hand wash stations). Spaces inside the loops are very exposed but pretty spacious.

Great except no water in toilets, only portapotties. If it wasn't for that it would be awesome, but I love it here.

low star due to outage of water during my staing (they placed chem toilet)cute campsite near sand dollar beach (watch out, parking there require 10$ cash fee, but then you can park also to willow creek picnic area, down the bridge - you have to show the fee fee envelope on your windscreen and put in the fee box at the end of day)water avaiablegas price is insine (especialli in Gorda) and ATM was out of service too

No potable water but the water available can be used for washing dishes. Portable toilets are very clean and since adding an additional 3 this has helped the campers on the south side not have to walk too far in the dark to access them. The campground itself is very lovely with a lot of space between each campsite.

The camping trip was enjoyed by everyone, and the host and other campers were wonderful. GS 1 is full of poison oak and not well maintained. The poison oak was growing next to the stairs to the campsite and could not be avoided. Also, the water to the back end of the campground had been shut off, and there was no warning ahead of time. It was difficult to keep enough water by the campsite to put out our fire. Will come back next year, but will avoid GS 1.

BEWARE of lack of provisions! NO potable water! Only the north end of the campground (near the host site) has water (which is non-potable). There is water available at the fire station (just north of the campground). But I had to find that out myself, the hosts didn't offer any suggestions. Porta-potties are only here as well and they haven't been cleaned in a month----so gross. The hand-wash stations have soap, but out of water. The camp hosts are typically there in the afternoon/evenings to check in and sell firewood ($15/bundle- cash only). They are not there at night or mornings. The group sites looked perfect! There are 2 vault toilets per group site and they were clean! (worth the bike ride up from the single sites). No cell service in the area, download hiking trails ahead of time, they are not well marked and we encountered several splits in trails without signage. Due to the landslide road closure expect much more traffic on Nacimiento Road. The McLarens and Lamborghinis were fun to watch fly by (but I'm really thankful we weren't walking to the beach at those times; they were going so fast!)

This is a great place to camp. The space was plenty and it's about a 10 min walk to the beach. Camp sites could be a little close to other campsites but isn't crowded. During our time the restrooms were out of order. So they were able to bring in portable potties. It seemed like they cleaned the toilets everyday and emptied them every 3 days. The camp hosts were great.. very friendly and helpful. Advise.. lock up your food and snacks. Raccoons, skunks and I believe a fox got into our food. So make sure you lock it up

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
