The location was very good, high elevation to escape the heat, close to the trails that we wanted to hike and close proximity (site 28) to the water and restroom and relative to the most of the sites we had shade.The couple who were running the campground host were very friendly and helpful. It was very nice experience having conversation with them.We wanter to participate the sky night ranger program but after driving a long way, we missed it. Well maybe next time.

Excellent campsite...very cool location feels like you are sleeping among the stars being that high up overlooking.

Perfect location to access the rest of Colorado National Monument. Also, just a short drive into Fruita and Grand Junction. Bathrooms clean. Bring leveling blocks as most sites are not level. Many of the overlooks along Rim Rock Drive have short trails to the best viewing points (i.e. don't just look and take photos from the roadside). Best overlooks with the most to see are at the west end of the national monument.

I love the tent camp grounds. It is so peaceful and the views are magnificent!

Campground had a lot of cool features leftover from the CCC and the cleanest bathrooms, however: there is a tent only loop but many of the sites don't have tent pads. The tables are not level and are made out of wood that will most definitely leave you with splinters. Sites are very dusty and dry, but if it rained would be total mud slicks. There were no ranger programs the weekend we visited.

The campground is clean and well maintained. The bathrooms are clean and there is potable water at some sites. Camp host was friendly and helpful. The only problem is that there isn't much shade and in the summer, the sun was brutal. I would not stay there more than a night.
@NicolePD40DEEA · Camped on Jul 18, 2025 at Campsite #26
Nice campground overall but our original site (site 26) was pretty much piled in with a few other campsites. We ended up moving to the site right next to it and that was nicer

Awesome!!

great experience. I've visited here in the past, but it's been a while. Not very crowded, in fact I saw more cyclists than autos. Views that will take your breath away. And so close to Grand Junction. I really need to visit here more often. And as an added bonus- the Restrooms were the nicest I've ever seen in a public park. I met a family from the Netherlands and the first thing they mentioned was the lack of people and then the clean & well kept facilities. "World famous restrooms"

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
