Terrific camping site. However, going during the first week of April and tenting, I froze. I do not recommend it.Also, there was a couple with two dogs. The dogs didn't bark all the time, but if you wanted to sleep late, they would bark and wake you up; like a couple of furry roosters. I could tell that the couple was trying to keep them quiet, and they eventually put shock collars on, but the whining from the dogs was just as aggravating. Camp warden was gone during this time--his days off for the week. So the low rating for my camping experience has nothing to do with the camp facilities. It was due to a poor choice for time of year and irresponsible dog owners.

Camped here after going hiking during the day. The facilities were incredibly clean and so was the campsite. Overall it was amazing and the location was awesome too

It was so hot and dusty that we didn't stay. Our particular site (B39) was ok but not very level and the thought of leveling and then enduring 102 degree temps all afternoon without electricity convinced us to go down the hill and stay at the nearby state park instead which did offer electric sites. We absolutely loved the Monument, though! Incredible scenery.

Staff was really awesome and beautiful campsite. However, road has a lot of potholes and their size were huge so that my car has bottom damages.

A nice campground in an underestimated national Monument. From out of our site there was a small path to a beautiful view.

Just a lovely experience. The camp spaces were releatively private. That is a good thing. Please do not over crowd the campsites. Will be nice when more sites are open that were closed.

We stayed in site 39. This is a very larger site over looking Fruita. Aside from there not being a larger amount of shade, we thought we had the best site due to the view. There is a larger ant nest where people had previously pitched a tent but there is some flat space under small trees where the tent can go.

The campground is great and very convenient for spending a few days hiking around in the national monument. The host is really nice, helpful and friendly. The bathrooms were kept exceptionally clean. Site B39 has a terrific view out across the valley and over the town of Fruita. It also has some large juniper trees on both sides that help provide some shade when the sun is hot. I'm rating it 4 stars instead of 5 due to there not being much level area to pitch a tent and also due to there being 4 underground vaults with manhole covers (sewer? water?) at the edge of the B39 campsite.

We arrived to the campsite late at night, the drive up has a ton of turns and was much easier coming down in the day light. Our campground overlooked the city and was incredible as the sun was rising. The bathrooms and water were very close. The bathrooms were very clean. Would stay here again.

Rangers and attendants were very helpful. The drive up from Grand Junction was spectacular. It was quite doable in our camper van, but I would not want to be pulling a trailer. We only spent two nights, and I would like to have spent more time in order to hike in the cool of the morning or evening.

If you have a campsite overlooking the valley, the views from your tent are incredible! The campsites are quite large on that side too. The ground is very hard and rocky so it's hard to get a stake in, so prepare accordingly...and a fair amount of wind...again, come prepared. It was a beautiful site, the hiking was wonderful and the rim drive too. Just loved it!

We had a great experience camping at Saddlehorn. It was a spacious site with a short walk to the edge of a cliff to watch the sunset and also lovely at sunrise. It was in July so very hot but still a beautiful place. The bathroom was clean and a short walk away.
