We arrived late and were unaware of the steep incline at the canyon summit. Ice was forming and we felt unsafe staying on top. Unfortunately, we had to leave. We are very disappointed we did not stay.

We loved staying at the Saddlehorn CG. The area is stunning, bathrooms clean, and fairly convenient to get to town. Neither of us had ever stayed at Colorado National Monument before, but we certainly would like to do it again.

As always the views were spectacular; been here multiple times and it is still wonderful. We ventured out to the edge of the canyon near the tent only loop and were treated to a flock of white-throated swifts repeatedly buzzing over us as they fed on the evening insect flights. This is a small but remarkable park...still in my top ten places to spend a night or two.

This was my first experience there and it was just a quick overnight but I was very impressed. Stayed on 5e outside of B lop with a great view of Fruita and river valley below. Restrooms and water availability were exceptional compared to other national monuments and a few national parks Ive camped in. Not many trees for shade but very mature junipers and Mormon tea shrubs. I will definitely return even if its only an hour from my home.

While the weather was not ideal, saddlehorn campground was. I was accustomed to seeing the camp host but was surprised to see that there was not a camp host during my visit.

This campground is amazing. Clean, well-maintained and safe. The toilet facilities are super clean and modern. The view from the campsite is gorgeous and there are many hiking trails nearby. If you have RV, you are unlikely to have much privacy where you park, but the campsite is private and spacious. The camp hosts are also very friendly and professional.

Great site. Lovely views of the cliff a short distance from our trailer. Flushing toilets and very clean bathroom. Host is always coming around.

The camp host, Terry, was amazing. He was friendly and very visible. There high winds and winter weather coming in and he knew I was worried. He texted his contact information in case we needed anything. He even helped us pick the best first come first serve spot since we arrived a day early to beat the storm. The bathrooms were super clean and the campground was well maintained. Pulling our 28' bummer pull trailer through the tunnels was stressful but easy. The visitor center is next to the campground and is fun for the kids. We will be back!

Had a gorgeous campsite with a beautiful view of the sunset. The camp was clean and quiet. Bathroom was very clean and maintained. Be aware that the generator is loud and goes on at 8, you can find it on the map so you could get a site farther away. Make sure to do the Rim Rock Drive while you're there!

We had spot 42 which was very handy for the restrooms. Lots of vegetarian made it quite private. The biggest surprise was our “backyard” which went all the way out to the cliffs. It made for fabulous sunrise photos.

I also liked being in the park so we could go back out in the evening when it was cooler (88 instead of 105??). We hiked most of Serpents Trail and loved it.

I’d return again without hesitation
