This site, while it doesnt have the amazing views of the valley below, has a little shade which is nice for the hot summer.

Saddlehorn campground is amazing, the camp sites sized to accommodate tents and modest stature trailers and camper vans. The views looking out over the valley are fantastic. The camp hosts are very friendly and welcoming, always available to be sure you get settled in your camp site with minimal fuss. And of course, Saddlehorn Campground is located adjacent to the visitor center for the Colorado National Monument, and the entire awe inspiring driving tour through the monument. This campground is a real treasure, find the time to camp there and visit the Monument, you will not be disappointed.

Visited in July and got to experience two magnificent thunderstorms in the late afternoon. Campsites on the outer edge of loop B (sites 36, 37, 39, 42, 43, 45, 47, and 49) have some grand view of Grand Junction and Fruita. Most sites will accommodate a RV up to about 27 feet. There's only water spigots at restrooms, so plan to bring a jug. The restroom were very clean and flushies! Plan to take a few hours in the Visitor Center and on the driving tour of the park. If you are lucky you'll run into the herd of mountain goats. We saw them just outside the campground!

Hint: For RV's. Stop in at the Colorado Welcome Center in Fruita for a free dump station and water fill prior to driving up the long grade to the campground.

Wonderful views from the campground. The campsite is spacious. Peaceful in the evenings. Camp host is warm and welcoming.

The space we had for our 31 foot travel trailer was tight, but that didn't distract. Be careful with the tunnels. The height is 10.5 feet at the edge (higher in the middle). We really enjoyed our time.

nice campground, but sites are pretty close together.

Very clean. The main road through the loop and our reserved space was fine for my 19 ft travel trailer, but it would be very tight getting in and out for large campers.
Our camping spot didn't include a fire pit. It was implied on the rules, that fire pit's were not acceptable (we would have brought our own). But other campers were using them with no criticism from camp hosts.

Close to town but still offers great views. Stargazing at night was great.
