The campsite was nicely laid out, the restrooms clean and well maintained, and the campground hosts particularly helpful.

Very nice and clean campground. Looks like they are upgrading camp sites and adding tent/table pads. Bathrooms were spotless.

Pullthru Site 12 was large enough to park my Casita perpendicular to avoid the sun on my fridge vent. Park Ranger stopped by to make sure I was good for the night. Camp host was friendly.

Clean restrooms, running water and great views. Near I-70 and right next to Colorado National Monument.

Our site we had reserved was #11 and we had wanted site #12 but the reservation system said we could with the length od vehicles we had. They site # 12 was more than adequate for a 17' trailer and small truck. We were able to switch the sites and everything was great and gave the other family in # 10 more room and privacy,
There are some great hikes right from the campground to the edge of the canyon. We had a great time.

Saddleback campground is beautiful, historical and classy, the location and views cannot be beat. However there are some drawbacks. The dreaded RV generators really distract from the quietude of nature (can be on constantly from 8am-8pm) as well as the almost constant car door slams and neighbor conversations (the sites are pretty close together.) The recently redid the bathroom and the toilet flushes are VERY loud and can be heard in nearby campsites (they woke me up at night - another reason to wear ear plugs.) And who wants to hear that sound all day long anyway? Plus in a desert environment where water is scarce they seemed to use a lot. Some quiet, clean composting toilets would be much more appropriate. I truly hope the park service reduces all kinds of noise pollution so nature lovers can truly appreciate the place. Quiet is an endangered resource everywhere and industrial tourism completely distracts from an authentic experience in nature.

What a wonderful surprise of a camping location. The view is spectacular and the camp host are awesome. The host gets 5 stars for being friendly, helpful, and very informative.

The place is nice, restrooms were very clean, and the guy responsible of the campground was really nice, updating us on the expected weather conditions and taking care of disturbing neighbors late at night.

Would not recommend sites 12 or 9 - almost no level ground for a tent and too close to each other for any privacy.
