great experience. I've visited here in the past, but it's been a while. Not very crowded, in fact I saw more cyclists than autos. Views that will take your breath away. And so close to Grand Junction. I really need to visit here more often. And as an added bonus- the Restrooms were the nicest I've ever seen in a public park. I met a family from the Netherlands and the first thing they mentioned was the lack of people and then the clean & well kept facilities. "World famous restrooms"

The site itself was wonderful. Clean bathrooms. Map was a bit off. I thought I could pull along side, backing up in new trailer proved interesting.

Wonderful location and amazing scenery. Site was just big enough for my 31 foot motorhome and relatively flat

Beautiful setting. Campground host greeted us at our site shortly after arriving, and even facilitated a quick switch to a nearby, more level site. My only criticism is that many of the sites are sloped quite a bit. But overall, we loved it!

Saddlehorn Campground is a well maintained campground with beautiful views of the nearby canyon overlooking Fruita. If you are driving through the area and need a place to stay is worth camping here. But make sure you have enough time to drive the 19 miles through Colorado National Monument and leave time to take in the magnificent views. The sites arent generally well suited for large RVs so make sure to check the size limitations before booking. Site 41 was big and conveniently located next to the nice bathrooms (well maintain with automated flush toilets but no showers). It took some maneuvering to back in to the site. The slight slope worked for my tiny trailer but I wouldnt want to try to park an RV there or many of the other spots. The weather was comfortable during my mid May stay but there was lots of wind most days (up to 50mph gusts). Be prepared for wind. I felt bad for the people in tents. There was a fee to enter Colorado National Monument park so add that $25 to the camping fee. Also, I don't recommend following the campground website's directions on how to get there if you are driving east to west. Follow your cars navigation directions instead which will likely send you through the west entrance near Fruita; that is much faster than the east entrance followed by 19 miles of crawling along the canyons edge. The 19 mile drive is lovely, but you dont want to hurry through it as you head to your campsite. Lots of people stay just one night. If you are one of them, Id still suggest you make sure you have time to take in some of the short hikes and sightseeing as you drive through the park. If you stay longer, know that internet (Verizon) was surprisingly good.

Great Campground and fantastic Host (Terry). Views from Loop C sites were spectacular. Trail walks exceptional and the Scenic Drive is not to be missed, each stop along the way is memorable.

Colorado National Monument is a mostly overlooked gem! It offers breathtaking views and is a park not to be missed! We loved it! No showers in campground but very clean flush toilets and nice trails. Plenty of restroom facilities throughout park. Very scenic and thrilling drive thru entire park -- must stop experience if ur in the area!!

We booked campsite 008 in loop A, and while it seemed unassuming when we first got there once we took a walk around we were blown away! Just about 100 meters from our campsite were unforgettable views of Fruita below. We were also lucky enough to watch lightning storms all around from our perch at the cliff. There are perfect spots to set chairs, decently away from the edge of the cliff, to just sit and commune with nature. The bathrooms were clean and the campsites were perfect. There are a TON of harvester/leaf cutter ants but they didn't really bother us; I'm pretty sure they're vegan.

Campsites are well maintained and bathrooms are clean. Sites are high on the plateau and overlook the valley below so it a beautiful place to camp. Sites are small but adequate. Drive or ride the rim road and be sure to hike an one of the canyon hikes. It rained one day we were there so we visited the Dinosaur Journey museum which is very interesting for both kids and adults. Many engaging exhibits.

Campground was great. Clean bathrooms and a fair amount of privacy between sites. Great views of Grand Valley and quick access to hiking trails.

Wow. Definitely come here and be sure to lay out at night and appreciate the enormous star filled sky. I felt like a little tiny person in a huge star globe....which I guess I kinda am. Also the cliffs are just a moment away from all the camp spots, the ones along the cliff are definitely the best but any are going to be pleasant. I only stayed one night but was able to get some sun set and sunrise yoga in and WOW, amazing. Side note I didnt know I would be paying an entrance fee more expensive than the camp spot itself. Maybe I missed it but no where in the camp ground information did I see anything informing of that. This might have been my first time camping in a National Park so that may be common knowledge, the guy at the gate sure treated me like an idiot saying its always been that way with a sure attitude. However the extra fee was well worth my experience there. Be cautious of wind at this location, setting up a tent alone was impossible till late in the evening.
