This campground was really nice and well kept and quiet. Very well spaced out and at times it felt like we were the only ones there. Site 10 is amazing but so are most of the other ones there too. I always like to walk the campground and see what the other sites look like and I would have been happy with any of them. This campground is about 20 minutes give or take from Grand Marais which has some basic needs, Munising is about an hour drive the other direction and offers a lot more so consider that. But we didnt mind that, most of what the Park has to offer is towards Munising and we spent most of time in that direction. Driving back towards the campground made it feel a lot more remote like dispersed camping but with water and toilet facilities. We absolutely loved this campground and spent a lot time just hanging out and enjoying the camp life.

We only stayed here 1 night, but loved how woodsy and private the sites were.

Loved our stay! So quiet, beautiful site, access to beach.

Potable water was difficult to access with an RV. The only water was from a push button faucet located on the drinking fountains. I checked with the camp host and she confirmed this. The water pressure was extremely low and it took 20 minutes to fill a 5-gallon bottle. There were no showers or flush toilets. It was challenging to have a comfortable visit.

Site is perfect, right next to the water and close to bathrooms. Quiet campground which is nice. If you need cell service there is full cell service down at Ausable lighthouse. A nice walk to the lighthouse which also has wild blueberries growing all over when you get there, about 2.0 miles, that you can pick. Love our stay as always over all!

Amazing, lush, secluded! A real magical place

We were happy to get a coveted campsite within PRNL. The site was as pictured and heavily wooded, though surprisingly loud with road traffic noise, starting early each morning. Bring your bug spray and mosquito netting and you'll be fine and within reach of Hurricane River beach for pretty sunsets.

Camp site 2 was great! We tent camped and had a wonderful time. There are bathrooms on site-just toilets, no running water. Went kayaking in pictured rocks, highly recommended!

Very nice campground.

Really awesome campsite. We recommend the upper loop because it has less bugs. Easy walk down to the lower loop and the beach. Easy access to hikes and lookouts, short drive to grand marais. You can hear the waves from even the upper loop! Bathrooms were clean and there were several trash cans

Very quiet and near the lake. Cell service was nill. We did not know coming in that there would be no allowed dumping of any waste water. Not a problem but it would have been good to know ahead of time.

One of the most private campgrounds/campsites weve experienced! There was no check-in, which was great (simply set up at your reserved site). We spent a lot of time at the beach accessible by a short (0.2 mile) walk to the lower campground (or a 30 second drive ) and enjoyed the walk to the lighthouse, also accessible by the lower campground. Theres also an overlook of the lake right by the campground, which was beautiful. Aside from that, there wasnt really anything close-by, but we enjoyed driving into munising to check out other beaches, some shops, eat pasties, and the waterfalls! We did the short hike to Wagner falls, checked out Miners Castle, beach, and Falls as well as the overlook. We also drove into Grand Marais - which was closer than munising - to check out Sable Falls and the Log Slide overlook. Overall great campground, but not much around unless youre up for a drive!

Mosquitos and biting flies were unbearable for me and my dog. Three day trip became two hours. Maybe would have been better if we were on the water. You could consider spraying for mosquitoes.

Nice little camp ground. Clean bathrooms and the host was very nice.

Great space for being outdoors and near Lake Superior. Be aware that the Upper and Lower loops for Hurricane River are numbered the same. It would be best if the sites were renumbered so that numbers didn't overlap.

small and quiet campground, very peaceful.

Excellent location right on Lake Superior. The campsites are a little close together and they could use more water spouts and bathrooms.

The campground is about 38 miles from Munising and 12 from Grand Marais. We stayed in the upper loop, which is largely on a hill. It has about 10 sites, which have trees in between them, so you dont feel crowded. It is very wooded, so lots of shade. Once the vault toilets were cleaned, they didnt smell so much. The campground on the whole was clean. There is water at the kiosk near the entrance. These are as advertised, primitive sites. There is a trail to the lower loop, so you can walk there and get to the main shoreline trail and beach. All of Pictured Rocks is worth seeing and Grand Marais is a cute small town with a great coffee shop.

Wood area . Peaceful with sounds of waves in the distance. Clean and well kept. Thanks to all from the NPS that make this happen.

The camp was okay. Nice location and outstanding park. But the facilities were rough. They had not been cleaned. Could barely stand to go in. Gorgeous park with nice trails!

Beautiful, peaceful location in the woods within walking distance of gorgeous sunsets over Lake Superior. Short hike to lighthouse is well worth it.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
