I appreciated the elevated pad for my tent. The fire ring was nice. The pole for my Coleman lantern put it over the top. I was late getting to the campsite and had to set up my tent in the dark. The elevated light from my lantern on the pole made it much more manageable.I enjoyed the rustic nature of the site with the toilet facilities just across the road. If I get the chance I'd love to visit again.

We only stayed here 1 night, but loved how woodsy and private the sites were.

The upper campground at Hurricane River was a nice and quiet place to stay during my trip to Pictured Rocks. It's an easy walk to the Au Sable Lighthouse from there, and an even shorter walk to the lake. The lower sites might have more sounds from the lake which I would have preferred, but everything will still what I needed.

Campground is small and very quiet. Campsite was very nice. Vault toilets were cleaned every day though there was a strong ammonia odor. I recommend the boat tour.

The pit toilets were fly infested and smelled terrible. They weren't well maintained compared to other pit toilets I've used across the country. Other than that, the campground was great.

Campsites were very private and quiet in October. If I were to come back, I’d choose a campsite on 12 Mile Beach. We thoroughly enjoyed hiking in Pictures Rocks National Lakeshore.

First time camping in America as an adult. I loved how far apart the campsites were and how quiet and peaceful it was. Very short hike to the lower campground and water which was breathtaking. Very glad we were able to get reservations here!

It was by luck i got this reservation. However while it says the campground was full when i booked there were multiple sites open. i hope you can go back and review the reservation process in full. As empty campsites during prime time is frustrating to see when so many want spots. Just because a person does not cancel despite knowing they won't come for the spot but cancelling does not give them money back so they don't care. possibly a system where they cannot reserve until 3 days prior next time would be a possibility. thank you

Nice spotthough you can see your neighbors, and you need to know that the closest dump station is a private RV park in Grand Marias!

The sites were clean and not too close together. The upper sites were close enough to the beach and trails without having the traffic of the beach and NCT. Loved the sites.

the site was a little tight to back into because of trees but not too bad. Very beautiful and quiet

Campground was beautiful, quiet, clean, and you're not camped *right next* to others. Camp hosts were friendly and available. The level tent pads are a fabulous idea -- every campground should have these. Easy hikes to Au Sable Lighthouse and 12 Mile Beach. Boat rides to Pictured Rocks are a must. Buy your firewood on the way in, as bigger logs are getting hard to come by on the campsites. Overall, a great time on beautiful Lake Superior!

The camp site was far enough away from other sites to feel secluded yet close enough to the bathrooms if needed. Our camper fit perfectly and we were able to venture out multiple times from our site to many cool places and come back to our cozy site in the evening. Its a 30-45 minute ride into town either way you go, but it was nice to be centrally located between the two.
