Camping at Sol Duc Hot Springs Campground in June is a wonderful experience if the weather cooperates and you are able to secure suitable campsites. Securing preferred campsites is challenging by the fact that the available campsites are not listed in numerical order on the website. Once, one of the three campsites we reserved was cancelled shortly before our arrival with no explanation. Another year the entire campground was closed for the month we had scheduled our reservations with no explanation, apology or assistance in rescheduling. We were lucky to find a late September weekend, which was not our preferred month, when suitable campsites were available. Campsite fees and cancellation policies are more reasonable than Washington State Parks campsites.

When I arrived at the park I went to the resort to check-in. The man, whose name I did not get, was very rude! I asked him to verify my campsite number and he sarcastically said, "You don't know your site number?" Instead of looking this up on the computer, he pulls out a sheaf of papers and starts searching for my name while other people are standing in line. I checked my phone reservation and it said site 014 and he said, "fine then that's what your site is." Imagine how surprised I was at 9:30 that evening when he's pounding on my door telling me I'm in the wrong site!! Totally unprofessional and rude! He never explained how to get a time frame at the hot springs, but was overly friendly and helpful to resort guests. Ruined my stay!!!

We loved our campsite here. It was the quietest campground we stayed at during our trip, and it was gorgeous! Perfect spot in the park to access all of Olympics wonderful places, hikes, and sights.

Hot springs were very relaxing and the falls loop trails was wonderful.The rv campground was not much different than a parking lot.If I go back again I will use the regular dry camping area. Much more secluded and pretty environment.

Absolutely love this campsite easy access to the hot springs and to the trailhead of multiple trails. Would definitely be returning, it was honestly so magical.

Sol Duc is a lovely place. Campground is typical Park service. Disappointed that the site description didnt accurately describe the narrow, slanted pull through site. Nearly hit a tree trying to pull through. Ended up backing in and using a big stack of leveling blocks

Do not reserve campsites 8 through 11! I was incredibly disappointed with my experience at Sol Duc campground. I arrived to campsite 9 for my reservation and was immediately surprised to find that, unlike at most campsites where I can pull my vehicle into the site in relative privacy with plenty of space to get out/unpack/etc., I had to park directly next to a stranger about 40 feet from the site. Now, if this was the only issue I wouldn't complain. However, this was only the beginning. As my partner and I got out of our car, we realized that we couldn't tell where our campsite ended and our neighbors' began. As we inspected the area further, we realized that the only place that we could pitch out tent was *literally* 10 feet from the tent of our neighbors - eight men on some sort of bachelors trip. Literally everything we said would be heard by our neighbors and vice versa - not exactly a peaceful getaway. At this point, my partner and I called it. We were going staying here for two nights, so we didn't want to deal with essentially sharing a campsite with strangers. So, we left the site and paid to reserve one of the five walk-up sites that were fortunately still available.---Also, while this doesn't affect my review of the campground, since it's unrelated, I thought I would let other visitors know that showers are not available for purchase at the "hot spring" (it's really just a pool with hot water and added minerals - there aren't even natural hot springs in the area?) which came as a surprise to my partner. To shower, you'll need to purchase access to the pool, which is $18. Seems like a missed opportunity to not provide cheap showers, but that's not the end of the world.

Campground with access to the hot spring during the season.

We stayed at site #26, and were surprised that no one checked our reservation. The site is very close to the restroom and the trash container, but at the same time protected by the vegetation, so theres some privacy. Overall sites are very close to each other, so you will likely hear your neighbors.There are trails to the falls and to the hot springs directly from the campsite. The falls get very crowded towards the end of the trail (closer to the parking lot), so Id recommend going there as early as possible.

Quiet, and fairly clean bathrooms

The campsite had a bunch of micro trash. The fire pit wasnt cleaned out. The fire pit at the next site hadnt been cleaned out either. Our picnic table was heavily rotted and missing big chunks in 2 places. We had an issue with our neighbor making noise til 230am when we finally told them to be quiet. Then we woke up to find that they left all kinds of food out. No camp host present to make aware of our issues

I really enjoyed my stay! The location was a perfect starting point for hikes at Crescent Lake, Hoh Rainforest, Hurricane Ridge, and closer by Lovers Lane and Sol Duc Falls. Staying in Loop B is awesome because you have access to the Lovers Lane Loop trail directly across from your campsite. Bathrooms were always in service and lights, mirror, flushing toilet is an upgrade from other campgrounds which lack these amenities. Middle of May and no bugs was nice. Consistent rain and being in a rainforest means as a camper you should be prepared with some kind of canopy to ensure you are not getting soaked while hanging out in your campsite. I opted for a Slumberjack Roadhouse Tarp which was perfect for putting up with 5 days straight of rain and kept us dry. There's lots of options for camping in Olympic but I must say this was as good as I could ever ask!

Was very happy with camping experience and site. Extremely disappointed to see a total lack of actual people available in the park to help and answer questions about anything due to the recent cuts in workforce from the current US administration. Have always very much enjoyed National Parks and my experiences there. Now as far as employees available to assist with anything, they are non existent. You are on your own in Olympic National Park. Basically figure everything out on your own, no one available to help. Including at the entrance to the Park.

Great destination, trails right out of the campsites! If you need or want anything, its a short walk down to the shop and hot springs. Great camp.

Reserved a site noted as 40ft. Naturally I expected I could get my 38 foot travel trailer into it. Nope. With a large log opposite the site on the road edge I could not maneuver my tow vehicle to be able to utilize the site. I had to leave and basically forfeit my payment that I made for 3 nights. I could not even leave in the normal loop. I was required to back-up my trailer to the entrance because the loop had trees that would heavily damage my trailer.You should NOT let trailers in that cannot fit. YOU SHOULD NOTE that over a certain height and length are not allowed in the camp grounds.

Sol Doc camping sites were nice. You really have to look at your camping site parking situation because each site is very different. We had site 26 on loop A (next to the bathrooms), and it was nice, but the bathrooms were closed most of the time. We also did not talk to the camp hosts once. We found this irregular since previously we've always had to check in, and they would always come and talk to us in other national parks. We also had ZERO contact with rangers in the Olympic National Park. We tried to get information and went to multiple "ranger stations," but they were always closed. You could pretty much get into the national park for free if you didn't scan the QR code they had at the front. Overall, super disappointed in the resources available when you are there, but the campsite was nice and a great landing spot for us.

We stayed at the campground and it was still easy to access the Hot Springs as well as the trails, right from our tent! The facilities were clean, the campsite was clean, and it was a pretty quiet campground.

Has a private path down to the river. Excellent site!

Beginning of April, the campsite was barely in use with just a few tents and RVs scattered around. Facilities (toilet & water) were up and running and in reasonable shape. Campsite itself was spotless. The trails in the vicinity were generally well maintained with only a handful of fallen trees blocking the way (mainly on Lover's Lane). Very wet (as expected) with parts of trails essentially becoming mini-streams. Nothing that can't be handled with a good pair of hiking boots. Stop by the Hot Springs resort afterwards for a quick relaxing soak.

Tent campground is compact, not recommend anything, towing or a vehicle longer than 24ft length. Space is enough for one large tent or a couple of small ones. The website listed up to 8 ppl, but I think it will be a bit crowded if everyone wants their tent own space. Of course, you're outdoor, plenty of space to roam around. I'm surprised to find out that there's no shower or hot water. It was my first time visiting the NPS, is this normal? We love the trails, Sol Duc falls, and the pool. We'll be back again soon to explore some more!

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
