Early October was a fabulous time at Sol Duc. The autumn colors, the mushrooms and the crisp air. We hiked Lovers Lane and it was one of the more memorable hikes I have done. Absolutely gorgeous.

The spots are very close. Lots of bees and other things in the area.

RV site; great hook-ups but less charming. Gravelcampground.

I was not impressed.
IMHO, the Sol Duc Hot Springs resort in the Olympic National Park is a total waste of time and money. We paid to stay three nights in the "RV campground" which turns out to be just a big, dusty gravel parking lot. No Cell service or Wi-Fi. No bathrooms or showers. We had electricity and water at our site, but no sewer connection. You had to go 1/2 mile down the road to another campground for a toilet.
After driving a complete loop around the entire Olympic peninsula, this "resort" was the only area we found where you have to pay National Park entry fees. In addition, after paying entry and camping fees, they still wanted $18 per person ($12 for kids and seniors) to splash around in their artificial concrete "hot springs" pools for 90 minutes.
While there is some beautiful scenery and some interesting features in the Olympic National Park, I would avoid the Sol Duc Hot Springs resort.

Very quiet campground even though is really just a big gravel parking lot. Only problem was the picnic table in our site was broken. Touched the end of the bench before I sat on it and it fell off on the ground. All the bolts were missing. Glad it was me and not my 92 year-old Mom who was with us on the trip. Never saw anyone "official" during the 2 nights we were there so couldn't report the problem.

Site was ok. Rv park, just a parking lot. No signs marking it, everyone coming in was confused at first. It's after the resort turn on right. Looks like a parking lot. No camp host for RV section. Dump station was near, but they charge even if you camp there. They also charge to use hot springs.
