They have the best group of camp hosts I have ever run across. So friendly and helpful. Kudos to the camp hosts.

Site number 5 is very steep and you will find yourself climbing back up to your RV.

We enjoyed our time at Cagle Recreation Area. The site was peaceful and quiet. The loop trail was enjoyable. The water pressure was the only thing lacking. It was so low that the shower dribbled water. So we ended up using our reserve tank which provided better water pressure.

First time here and we LOVED IT! Nice site; friendly hosts and neighbors. Bathrooms were just OK; could have been better maintained.

Campsites are clean and well maintained. Bathrooms were adequate. Nearby destinations nearby include Honeys Biscuits in the town of New Waverly, as well as the Veterans Museum, the Prison Museum, Sam Houston Museum, and the Sam Houston statue in Huntsville. The Lone Star Hiking Trail is accessible near the campgrounds. Cagle is also a great place just to relax and enjoy nature!

It would be great if the bridges on the long trail along the lake could be repaired . The vegetation is thick & beautiful.The short island trail is also beautiful and there are several areas for handfishing there. We love the full hookups and the large campsites. The boat parking lot is in need of repairs due to the busy boat traffic. This park stays very busy and could definitely warrant some tax money for repairs to restrooms.

Camp host (Jesse) was great! Very good about checking to make sure all was okay and we had the information we needed for a successful trip. Park was very clean and very well maintained. We look forward to returning and checking out the hiking trails.

Great to have sewer connection. Campsites were well laid out. One problem was they allowed people to park where ever and that made it difficult for me and at least one other camper to back a camp trailor in.

Quiet, spacious site. Only issue was toilet paper shortage rapidly corrected by camp host

Volunteer staff was great. The sites were lovely with sunsets and hiking paths. The bird songs were amazing. Wish I had brought my fishing gear!

This is a fairly decent place to stay. Sites are fairly deep with plenty of space between them. The bathrooms however dont appear to be cleaned on a regular basis. We stayed for almost a week and the bathrooms didnt get cleaned until the 4th day we were there. And it was the same in both loops. The hosts do come through and seem to be nice. The closest town in New Waverly, typical small town. But Huntsville, TX is about 30 minutes and will have everything you need.

Check in was easy. Host was ok, but moody. We have been going to this park for many years. I have never been told that if my dog continues tio bark we would have to put her inside our camper! We do not let her bark out of control, just be aware if you take a dog.

The camp hosts wee extremely helpful in helping us to "debug" our new RV. Camp host "Faith" was particularly helpful and accommodatiing. The weekend was most excellent.

Great campsite on Lake Conroe with gorgeous views. Camp hosts (especially Jesse) were great. Bathrooms well maintained -- not luxurious, but clean and functional. Campsite has some decent trails for casual day hiking. Great population of songbirds in late March when we camped there.

Sitting around the campfire, talking and watching the fire as the sun sets over the lake. Take a trip into Montgomery to shop through the antique stores and eat at the Old Montgomery Steakhouse ( great food and prices).

We love coming to Cagle. It's close to home, beautiful tall trees, lovely sites. Rangers were very nice and attentive. One issue was disappointing Friday night after we had gone to sleep. Airboats revving their engines for about two hours next to campsite. No one could sleep through that it was awful. Rangers told us that Cagle couldnt do anything about it and that it could happen any night. I almost said we should pack up and just go home. But we had planned this trip for a long time and decided to stay. The next night we heard the airboat once and the night after that none at all. It is a shame that a few airboat people can Make our peaceful outing so miserable the first night.

Pros: Quiet, Clean RestroomsCons: Small campsites, right over one another, no cell reception (tmobile), pesky raccoons (tried to get in our tent all night long even when leaving site super clean overnight), no communication from anyone, the precious tenants overstayed - had to be kicked out, leading to us waiting to set up. Our site was the most private which was enjoyable...but those raccoons.... good grief.

Camp site had plenty of space. Facilities close by (were always clean and well stocked with TP). Fishing close by. My only complaint is the boat ramp. People were revving their boats to load up until midnight. I swear an air boat was right outside my tent at one point. Team no sleep. Did not care about no Verizon coverage because nature. Maps provided at check in could use an update with an estimate of how far the trails are.

The atmosphere was incredibly calm and peaceful, making it the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle. The restrooms were exceptionally clean, which is always a big plus when camping.One of the highlights was the hiking trail nearby, offering beautiful scenery and a great way to explore nature. Jessie, who was taking care of the site, was friendly and accommodating, ensuring we had everything we needed.Overall, a fantastic experienceI would definitely recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a relaxing outdoor escape!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
