Cagle Rec Area is located in the Sam Houston Ranger District, National Forests in Texas (just 16 min south of Huntsville, TX) with an elevation of 330 feet. There are a total of 47 campsites. The campground is open all year. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 40 and 60 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. All sites have electric and water hookups. Prices start at $30.00 per night. Some amenities include boat ramp. Activities include biking, boating, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

I arrived on Saturday so the campground was very crowded. The site I had reserved was nice however and my stay was enjoyable

Stayed in site #16 so we wouldn't have to look at the host's junkyard of a site. FHUs. Decent water pressure. Clean 50amp power, reasonably level site. Be aware that there are very few OTA TV stations available and there is virtually no cell service.

Cagle is my favorite spot to camp in Texas. We have been there several times. There was an unauthorized person in our camp site when we arrived so we had to ask them to leave but other than that it was great. There is no cell service here so be prepared for that.

Great campsite, clean bathrooms, nice hiking trails near by. Appreciate can go for just one night too and not required to book two nights like the state parks.

There was no one at the gate. We drove directly to our site and started setting up. A camphost came by and welcomed us. Site was easy to back into.

Horrible experience with one of the camp hosts named Lee. Jessie and his wife were amazing and let them know about issue. I was there with my grand babies (teenage girls) and felt very uncomfortable. Every time we turned around he was there. Came up to our site blowing debris everywhere. Came all the way up past trailer door and into gazebo tent setup. This is usuallly done when site is empty. Girls would ride their scooter to trash and turn around and he was there. I won't be back. Creepy!

Beautiful Park. This part of lake Conroe is totally different from the southern end as there is no development so nothing but treeline. The only thing was our camping site ended up being across from a camp host who had lots of junk around their trailer so it was an eyesore. Would have chosen another campsite if I had known. (would have given it 5 stars otherwise) You never really know what you are getting until you see it. Overall we enjoyed the park and would definitely go back and try to grab a different campsite next time. The facilities were nice and very clean and the campsite had good service i.e. electric and water.

The camp sites were very clean and the bathrooms were clean as well! The host were friendly and nice! Host Lee is amazing! We camp here multiple times a year and love it!
