Jessie and Lee were awesome park rangers and very helpful! If youre planning on having a fire, definitely bring something to chop wood with. They dont allow outside wood, they provide plenty of logs and rounds, but very little of it is chopped up. Thankfully, a nearby group of campers who frequented the area were able to lend us some tools to chop with. Walked their short two mile trail which was awesome. Facilities were well kept, and all park members were very respectful. Would visit again, and highly recommend for other people looking to camp with their friends or family! Its a very open space where all campers can mostly see each other, so keep that in mind when planning in-camp activities.

Stray dog ruined our Christmas dinner. Dog kept coming by rummaging thru the trash, and pestering our guests for food. Since this dog was around and would not leave, we could not bring out our dog to enjoy the festivities with us. This pit-bull mix has apparently been roaming around for a week. Really put a kink in our holiday.

I thought this was supposed to be a survey of our trip, not a questionnaire about the website. I use the app on my phone and it works well.

Nice quiet campground. Camp hosts are very nice. Site 24 is not level. Many sites are not level. We also stayed at site 36 which was pretty level. Verizon signal almost zero. Several nice trails. Quite a drive to get anywhere, but again, that makes it nice and quiet. The birds in the morning are just incredible.Pricing was a surprise. I need to pay closer attention. $8 reservation fee and $10 electric fee. $20 for the site so total was $38, which is not really worth it, compared to most sites booked through Recreation.gov. Apparently this campground is now owned by the state, which would account for the higher prices.Overall, nice place, but probably won't be back here much if at all. For the locals, it's probably a great weekend retreat. Nice and clean.

Lovely park. Site was off level bad from side to side. Auto leveling wasn't happy. Quiet.

Great, quiet campground! We loved it! The sites are big and have lots of trees. Our site wasn't on the lake but had easy access with trail that go down to the lake. There are several trails that are wonderful and easy to walk. Lots of people fishing, especially in boats. Both circles of campsites are small and helps to keep the campsite quiet and friendly. The web page said that they didn't have sewer at the campsite but they did and they also had 50 on electricity.

My wife and I always try to find an area to camp in January that doesn't include "mountain" cedar pollen. I have significant allergies to the pollen. With Covid and increased RV sales it was hard to find a good location to camp. I found Cagle on the internet and we decided to try it out. What a gem of a location. We couldn't believe such a quiet and serene recreation area was just a few miles from a bustling city like Conroe. The full hook up sites were a plus, the pine trees were beautiful, and the camp hosts were very pleasant and helpful. We liked it so well that we already have reservations for later this spring. The sites are all back-in, paved, and fairly level. We had ATT cell service, but didn't even bother to attempt to get satellite TV due to the density of the forest. We had plenty of TV off the antenna.
