Enjoyed site 5. The restroom is permanently closed at that location. Next restroom is several sites down.

We had a good time but they should spend money on the upkeep on the lake it looks terrible and abandoned.

Such a beautiful place. Campsites have trees between themwhich create privacy. The lake is wonderful for fishing, and the swimming hole is great fun for the kids when its open. Hiking around the lake is lovely, and riding mountain bikes on the bike trail is always a hit.

When I was young I came to this park as a Boy Scout. Then my father and I would come camp here, and countless day trips to fish the lake. So I wanted to bring my kids to experience this park. The campsites are just as I remembered, big and quiet. Perfect tent sites. But. The restroom that was closest to our site was closed. Its been closed for sometime now. Not a deal breaker. But. The lake itself was horrible. Couldnt fish because its all grown up with weeds. The only open water was out in the middle and inaccessible. Also we couldnt swim. The water had bacteria and leaches. Totally a let down. When the lake is the star of the show and you cant do anything with it its just a sad sad thing they let this lake get to this condition. And not receiving money to do anything about it. Just sad. Very sad.

Double Lakes is a wonderful place to camp. Trails and lake views are very nice. Private spots and lots of quiet.

Love the park. Camp hosts are amazing. Sites have plenty of shade to help beat the heat. Bike trails are not for faint at heart but fun. One of my favorite parks.

First time here and was very disappointed in the shape of the lake and grounds poison ivy and oak all along the hiking trails and a stray cat living in the woods kept stealing are food the lake needs so much attention...

We stayed mid-week so campground was very quiet. A few things felt like they could use some TLC but overall we enjoyed our stay. We were unable to see many pictures so did not know what to expect. We did not use the restrooms or showers so can't comment on those buildings.

I really appreciated that the camp host came by to check on us as we got there and provided us any information we needed. Great place to camp!

We stay at this park several times of the year and we really enjoy our stay each time. The only downside is the poor cell reception which is great for disconnecting from the digital world,

Nice place to relax during week, friendly camp hosts, the trail around the lake needs repair but know that takes money, if parents bring kids in that want to play team sports , suggest an area that is away from roads and rv sites

Leeches in the swimming area! Beware! Camp hosts are aware but dont warn the campers. Horrific.

Directly across the road from a restroom, water access and trail access very clean spot with good room.

The park was clean and the park hosts were friendly. It was nice that the swim area was open. There happened to be an arts and crafts fair with live music on Saturday in Coldspring. It's not every weekend, but check it out.

Always a wonderful escape from day to day life. Peaceful and secluded yet close enough for a day trip. great staff, both friendly and helpful. good trails, close to the lone star hiking trail and a lake for canoes or kayaks. very dog friendly.

We had a great time! The staff was so friendly. The bathrooms were the cleanest we've ever seen at a park. This was our second time here. We will definitely return again. Only downside, was all the lilies in the pond, made it hard to fish.
@JessicaH685289 · Camped on Mar 15, 2025 at Campsite #1
Spacious campsite; I couldnt hear music or conversations from neighboring sites. Running water to wash dishes along the main road. Trail around the lake was about 45min walk and very pleasant. The bathroom facility near site 15 was nice but the one near site 6 was closed. We enjoyed the wooded location very much!
@ThomasG8527799 · Camped on Mar 13, 2025 at Campsite #33
Campsites and restrooms are clean. Lake is overgrown with vegetation and fallen dead trees need to be cleaned up along the lake trail.

Great area.

The park isn't as busy in the winter time but they had a couple of very large groups there that left early due to rain. One host said around 180 tent groups with lots of children. Even after the group left I was so impressed with how clean the restrooms were. Of course the facilities are old, but they are very well maintained with the hostess group in place.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
