Double Lake Rec Area is located in the Sam Houston Ranger District, National Forests in Texas (43 min northeast of Conroe, TX) with an elevation of 315 feet. There are a total of 43 campsites including 10 tent-only sites. The campground is open all year. 33 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 20 and 45 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring with grill. 22 sites have electric and water hookups. Fees range from $20.00 to $85.00. Some amenities include shower, swimming, restroom, amphitheater, flush toilets. Activities include biking, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

Our first spot at 55 was incredible, Number 10 had a little bit of a wasp issue in the picnic table but besides that it was also great

Park was extremely clean. The Camp host stopped by and discussed if we had any needs. The camp sites were secluded by trees.

I got there right after an ice storm so it was cold. Site was very nice and I plan to go back again and hopefully have better weather. It's a beautiful area.

It's been years since I've visited this park. I have such fond memories of it. I enjoyed my stay, it rained and temp dropped down to 24 degrees, but it was still fun. The trail around the lake needs a little maintenance.

Double Lake Recreational Park is a great campground to bring your family. It has some great hiking trails at the location, and others within a short distance. The campgrounds were well kept, restrooms were kept extremely clean and stocked, and the showers had hot water.Park hosts Eugene and Cheryl were extremely accommodating and friendly. Checked in with us regularly and were always available if needed.Would 100% recommend this location to friends and family. Definitely plan on returning for another fun trip with the family!

Nice little campground with nice hosts. Ample size sites with plenty of room between sites. Not a mountain biker, but suppose to have good trails for bikers.

Guys go to double lake my friends and I had a blast. Clean, orderly campsite that was super close to the lake (4 min walk) and there was a connivence store with firewood nearby (5 min drive). Also a beautiful area with wildlife (deer!).

We love Doublelake!First time in lot 43, driveway was super easy to back into and didn't require much balancing but I needed to unhook to lower the tongue and raise the passenger side 5 inches. Great secluded yard for the pups but the septic smelled the entire stay.

Double Lake is a quaint and excellent campsite for those of us who love camping but hate the cramped style of campsite that has you in lots, leaving you at the mercy of who shows up next to you and how loud they decide to be. Every lot is seperated by patches of woods, giving a beautifully private feeling. This is the perfect campsite for the peaceful camper.

A beautiful quiet park and a great place to camp. The bathrooms are in badly need of renovation. However, the volunteer staff does a good job of keeping them clean. A negative is many campers book sites and then fail to show up leaving them empty. Please cancel your booking if you do not intend on showing up.

The campground is beautiful and very spread out. Camp sites are further apart and more private than in most other national campgrounds or state parks that we have been to. It was fun watching otters swim in the pond.

Our campsite was nice, not too close to any others, so we had some privacy. There isn't much in the way of activities for kids (playgrounds, etc.) except for what you bring yourself. Overall though we had a good time.

First-ever camping trip for my boys. Beautiful location. Fishing was easy for first-timers. In a pinch, firewood vendors and gas stations are close to the park entrance.The park rangers I encountered were excellent and very helpful. We will be back next month

Everything was pretty wonderful. The trails were nice, the restrooms were clean, our camp hosts were very friendly and informative. One of the womens showers had quit working and they were already in the works of having it fixed. The lake was such a beautiful site.
