We have been coming to Double Lakes since our children were young, basically for about 25 years and we always stay at our usual site 62. The area is always clean. The bathrooms were spotless, which says a lot with all the spiders crawling around lol..The hosts driving around were so friendly. We cant wait to come back again

The park was clean and the park hosts were friendly. It was nice that the swim area was open. There happened to be an arts and crafts fair with live music on Saturday in Coldspring. It's not every weekend, but check it out.

Double Lake Recreation Area is very well maintained. The hosts are gracious and helpful. Also, there is access to the Lone Star Hiking Trail.

Great camp sites with space from neighbors and convenient toilets for tent camping. Kids loved playing in the trees and walking around the lake!

Best kept camping secret in Texas. Beautiful private camping areas, peacefully quiet park with gorgeous views and trails. I've been going for 45 years and although I've camped in many places, Double Lakes is still my fave. Craig and the other camp hosts are amazingly kind and helpful. Craig has taken such great care of this park for years and he makes sure everyone is safe and well taken care of.

My husband and I have been camping at Double Lakes ever since our kids were little and now we go by ourselves! The campsites are always clean. Our campsite is the only one we’ve ever stayed at and we love it. We can’t wait to go back.

This park needs a fish cleaning station, a dedicated dump station, and they need to do something about the plants taking over the lake. Fishing is already a bit difficult due to the water lilies.

Weve been camping at Double lake for over 25 years and this was my first time back in about 8 years. It is still a nice place to go thats close to home but I was a little disappointed about some things. First, I wish they would stock the lake with fish even if its catch and release. No one was catching anything but lily pads. There was a host on staff that was very responsive and glad to see they sell ice and fire wood, but years back they would have a park ranger doing activities with the kids. They also used to rent canoes and paddle boats but that is no longer the case. The shower at our bathroom was out of order. Over, we would come back for a short stay.

Nice quiet area, restrooms cleaned daily. Our site was right on the lake to put kayaks in and fish. Great stay.

I am a mountain biker so the trails are the main reason I camp at Double Lake. They are well laid out and stay in great condition. The restrooms/showers are always very clean. The campsite itself was also empty of fallen leaves creating a nice clean hang out area. The hosts are friendly and on this trip repaired a leaky faucet after dark. The nearby town of Coldspring has a nice little grocery store (Brookshire Brothers) so you can either bring your own food or pick things up locally so you don't have to transport everything from home.

Wonderful well maintained campground. Clean bathrooms and showers. Quiet. Miles and miles of biking and hiking trails. This is worth multiple visits. Some camp sites were too close to each other, so choose wisely. Cell service was minimal, but I consider that a plus.

Campsite was clean and the Camp Hosts were great. Double Lake is my favorite for camping and mountain biking.
