Nice place to relax during week, friendly camp hosts, the trail around the lake needs repair but know that takes money, if parents bring kids in that want to play team sports , suggest an area that is away from roads and rv sites

This is our second stay at a National Forest in Texas. The area has a lot of trails and opportunities for biking or hiking Some camp sites has FHU available We were met by a slightly rude Camp host. He had more comments than suggestions. Some trails and campsites were very challenging due to not being level or up keep. The facilities are older and not well maintained

The park is beautiful and well kept. Due to the time of year there were not very many campers. The facilities are older but were clean and well stocked. The campsites were clean upon move-in and spacious. The limited staff was present and friendly. A great park to visit and explore.

I very much enjoyed the site and being so close to walking trails and the lake. The hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming. Would recommend highly and would like to come stay again.

MY FAMILY HAS BEEN COMING HERE FOR OVER 50 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED. WERE IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING PLANS TO COME BACK IN MARCH. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE FISHING PIERS FIXED FOR BETTER ACCES TO FISHING. THE WIFE AND I HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT BECOMING CAMP HOST IN THE NEAR FUTURE, SAY ABOUT FIVE YEARS. WE LOVE THE CAMPGROUND AND WILL CONTINUE TO VISIT IT. THANK YOU CAMP HOST FOR A WONDERFUL WEEKEND.

Seems the gov't is letting the park go. The walking path around the lake is in very poor condition. The hot water is cut off to all bath houses and is very hard on older people, Roads have many potholes and edges are sloughing off.
This park used to be very family oriented and a gem in the woods. When you go now, you get the feeling it is about to be abandoned by the Park System. It is a very nice area and it would be a shame to lose it
