Hernando Point Campground, MS - Latest Reviews, Photos & Campground Map

Hernando Point Campground in DeSoto County is located 30 min south of Southaven, MS with an elevation of 248 feet. There are a total of 81 campsites. The campground is open all year. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 30 and 100 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. All sites have electric and water hookups. Prices start at $24.00 per night. Some amenities include shower, playground. Activities include biking, boating, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

Arkabutla Lake will be experiencing substantially lower water levels for an extended period of time. Long-term repairs to Arkbabutla Dam must be completed before water levels can return to normal. This affects boating access and water-based activities on the lake. Many boat ramps are currently closed with Hwy. 51 Landing being the only open ramp. We have fallen in love with this place becasue it's so close to home and work but also a great escape. We love our endless walks around the grounds, cooking outside, and just enjoying the family. Even without the lake, we enjoy it. Fishing in the pond has also become one of our favorite things to do.

Campground was clean and well taken care of. We love the fact that sites are not right next to each other. Plenty of room to back our 35 rig. We knew the lake is being worked on so would imagine the view will be much better when its back. We didnt use the bathhouse facilities so cannot rate.

We stayed in Site 8, and the view over the river was beautiful! It would be even better if there was some water in the lake. This site is very nice, just have to be careful of the drop-off from the driveway to the remainder of the area. My wife actually fell down the slope, so be careful if you stay here. Other than that, this is very nice campground. Always clean and well kept.

A Beautiful Peaceful stay. We love Hernando Point. We arent water folks , so having no water is not important to us. We look forward to our next visit soon.

Site 23 was perfect Site 24 was very short and had a ditch too close to the pad; connection to sewer was at least 20 feet from my connection. Would not rent that site again.

Nice spacious campground with trees all around. It was predicted to be a stormy night and the campground host came around to point out the storm shelters for our safety. We were only there for one night, but would definitely stay again sometime if passing through.

Repair the dam and fill the link back up with water would be awesome. But the cleanup and improvements? Has been absolutely. Benefit. We spend. Two to three weeks a year. Particular area. Visiting our grandchildren. And they love riding bicycles. But it'd be nice to have water in the lake.

This was our second visit to Hernando Point (and as RV owners in general..HA) It's such a perfect place. We love that we are close to "town" but the feeling of being away. Everyone there was so nice and our dog even had a blast. Can't wait to go back!

nice campground. kind of out of the way plan on driving 20 minutes at least from I 55.the lake is drained so not a lot of activity in the area or cell service. plan on 15 to 20 minutes to get to nearest town.nice views
