nice campground. kind of out of the way plan on driving 20 minutes at least from I 55.the lake is drained so not a lot of activity in the area or cell service. plan on 15 to 20 minutes to get to nearest town.nice views

This could be a very nice campground even without the water. The general maintenance of the campground is very lacking. Low spots that have developed over time allows water to stand when it rains. Roadway where it was cut out for improvements need repaired. Again, this could be a very nice campground if people who are in charge take pride in it.

The sites are not cared for. My site had 2 fire rings. Both full of trash and old cigar butts. Used to be cared for better.

This time there was two car chases through the park both speeding,,two days apart. More rangers than before, but still not safe. What looked like homeless people on bike's with trash bags hanging from handle bars looking at campground sites for things to steal.no camp hosts were seen, twice in our two weeks camper across from us had trouble getting into site dug big trench in our yard.to big for site,,

We stayed ten days at Hernando Point.ants are horrible! After I got home I had to spray our camper with ant bombs and close it up. The whole time we were there we never saw a camp hostHomeless people came and set up in tents at night and left early which didnt give me the best feeling of being safe. Some people move from site to site and appear to be living there. Overall I am not very impressed with the campground. The pads are nice but geez.I had to spend a lot of time fighting the ants! The grass was knee high which isnt good either!

We stayed in site 4. The grass was overgrown across the site and 3 weeds around picnic table and fire pit. There was also 4x10 mud ruts along the edge of our slab. We have a one year old who wants to spend all hours outside running around, and it was disheartening having to keep him right on the concrete due to unkept area. (There was a large Jon Deere across from us that has obviously not been touched in a couple weeks.) The womens restroom was flooded when we arrived on Friday and looked like it had not been touched when we went back on Saturday. There was a permanent water stain on the outside on the restroom where it seemed like this has been an issue for a while. Gnats were also a HUGE issue at night. Even opening the door for a split second would let in 50-100. When we dropped off our trash on Sunday, the dumpster was full, and there were about 30 bags of trash piled on the outside.We did like the location of the campground and the views of the water were nice. The sewer, water, and electricity were very nice to have and did not have any issues with them.
