Flat spot for a tent for those of us that dont have a camper. Only downside was no fire ring but it was warm enough out to not need it. Beautiful spot right by the water and a good clearing above in the trees for Star gazing. Will come back!

My wife and I love this spot Lot #50. It will be so pretty when the dam is fixed and the water is let back in. We will be back !

Close to Memphis and things but that can be a negative too. Without a gate or guard house, there is a lot of sketchy activity going on.

We camp at Arkabutla lake very often at many different sites. We were at Hernando point site 50, 11/4-6/2022. The site was little to be desired, first the sewer did not drain properly, it leeks into the field next to camp site,the 30 amp out let would not hold power wire, had to use duct tape to make it stay connected, there was no ring for a fire to be built.

As stated before, this place could be really nice if the following would be fixed: 1) gate attendant (a gate period); 2) hosts or at least more than just occupying a site; 3) reopen the beach and common area (the playground, grills and picnic tables are just rusting away..wasting tax payer money).Besides these, our site did not have a fire ring as others in the area were missing too. Also we had some excitement, a high speed chase thru the campground. A Sherriff's deputy chased a guy in a truck going about 35 - 40 miles per hour (thank God no children were playing on the roads)...maybe a gate would have stopped this or at least made it safer for the campers.

The campground is beautiful and the hosts are awesome. No fault of rec.gov or the campground, when we arrived there was someone on our site we had reserved. They said when they arrived the previous day, someone was on their site and a lady on the phone told them to take the next available site. Well, our site was empty at the time but it was not available. The camp hosts, Phil & Jack, were 100% but we didnt want to push the issue due to the fact the lady on our site was irate. We were offered another campsite but we chose to go eat and return home and plan for another day (we live in the area). We were given a complete refund. We look forward to returning to the campground and spending the night

We are newbies to camper with a small travel trailer. This location is close to where we live and when the partner has to work 5 1/2 days a week, it's convenient location for him to drive to work. I like the sites that have large spaces between them. I love going to the Farmers Market in Hernando on Saturday mornings. We've never had a bad experience at Hernando Point.
