Excellent site.

Close parking with easily accessible campsites. Restrooms were clean. If you want to not have a long walk to the restroom in the middle of the night then choose sites 7,8,9. All sites with great views of the river. Sites were clean with fire/cooking grates in each. Flat areas for tents in every site. Short drive or extended hike to Antietam Battlefield sites and town of Sharpsburg.

Proximity to Harpers Ferry is a plus. Not our first time here. Have enjoyed it each time. Portapotties and vault toilets very clean, but we were there around Veterans Day, so probably not much activity there this time of year. Its a great spot. There was a campground host but we arrived after dark and left early the following morning , so did not have a chance to interact with them.

well kept site, lots of space, firepit and picnic table were perfect, creek views were stunning, access to the towpath was easy, bathrooms were clean enough

Quiet, easy access, picturesque Antietam Creek experience.

The campsites were clean and had plenty of space to set up tents. The port-a-potties were stocked with paper but not with hand sanitizer. It rained the night we stayed but we sent our tents on a rise and were not flooded out. The fire pit and grate worked well for cooking dinner and roasting smores. Sharpsville is ~10 minutes away if you need something there is a general store on the northside of town. The walk down to the river is steep but there are ropes to help you climb up and down. A great spot to relax or stopover when visiting the Antietam Battlefield.

Site was ok. No problems. Not sure why it cost $20 when the free campsites I used the next 8 nights on the C&O were pretty much the same

Camp sites are very close to each other and not very private.Toilets were clean and camp grounds are in hood condition

When I arrived around 4 p.m., someone was still camping at my reserved site. I politely let the person know that I had that spot reserved for the week. When the person in my spot was not cooperative, I reached out to the Communications Center. A Park Ranger was dispatched promptly. I appreciated that support. It was a private camp spot with a pretty view. This site is mostly sand/dirt though. When it rained, the site was messy. It is a hike to the bathrooms and the water pump. Beware of the poison ivy- off the path leading up to the sites from the parking, in the vegetation at the site, and along the little path leading down to the river from the site. Overall, it was nice get away despite these things.

Love the sites that are right next to the Potomac and along the C&O Canal. Can't beat the price. Lots to do in the area with Antietam Battlefield and Harper's Ferry nearby. Brought my kayak for the river and took a few hikes on the tow paths. Parking if the sites are full are sometimes a challenge. I usually try to get the sites near the bridge that goes over the canal.

Beautiful spot on the river, simple and clean for the right price! :) I look forward to coming back.

It was quiet and easily marked. The walk from the parking areas is nominal. The trees ("fully leafed") did obstruct my view of the river but that's expected and there are little cut outs so you walk down to the river edge. It was not as buggy as I imagined it would be. There were two other sites occupied both of which were quiet. Early morning joggers/walkers did start coming by around 630am but they too were quiet. The campsites are about 25 yards from the walking trail so privacy during daylight hours should not be expected. Would definitely camp there again if I found myself in that area again (I was traveling to NY from NC). Pete's Tavern in town has cheap beer and nice people.

Great campsite with shade ... Bathrooms were not clean

Nice flat tent site with fire ring, charcoal grill, and picnic table. Shaded but not enough trees for hammocks. Site #4 short walk to privy and car parking. Water marked not potable so we filtered, I think this is only so someone can't sue. Has a path to the river but not enough space and too steep for kayak or canoe access. Short walk to river access downstream. I would recommend as an overnight stop if you are car camping, backpacking or bicycling on the C&O canal towpath, or canoeing kayaking down the Antietam or Potomac.

Beware- very close to road, lots of foot traffic on c&o. Running water- disgusting toilets- arrived and left immediately

I love this place
@DominicBC16BFF · Camped on Jun 21, 2025 at Campsite #2
Pack light or bring a cart. Parking is on the side of the road and there are only 2 paths across the small deep creek between parking and all sites . Mosquitoes are heavy and running water is no where . That being said a nice large site with a river path and plenty of space for anyones gear.

Great access right off the Ches. Ohio Canal; very convenient.

Couldnt stay at this location had to go to a different one the description isnt very clear. After driving hours to get there I had to park on the road and we had to cross a narrow bridge with our equipment it was impossible with all the things my family and I had.
@MirandaBEBE72A · Camped on May 2, 2025 at Campsite #20
No camp host/ park ranger on site. Locals use it as a hangout at night. The party two sites over played music until after 3 am. Same group ended up in a physical and verbal fight, resulting in the police arriving . NOT A SAFE CAMP. Shame because the view was beautiful

This location was awesome! The towpath and river offer so many recreational opportunities! The campsites offer plenty of space for privacy, the restrooms are clean, and the parking is close by. Will definitely be back.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
