We enjoyed the pull thru (not back in) site, clean bathroom, a short hike, lots of wild flowers.

Quieter and less crowded part of Joshua Tree, beautiful landscapes and amazing star gazing opportunities! Spaces between sites are roomy and campers can access the trailhead to Mastodon Peak trail within the campgrounds.

Everything was perfect! The site accommodated my van and there was plenty of room in the site to setup our supplies and enjoy the beautiful weather and evening sky! The best part was the Camp host, Don and his wife Vanda. They were super informative, unbelievably helpful and they went out of their way to help us!

Beautiful place! Wide expansive views in all directions and pretty dark sky for stargazing.Bathrooms are very clean and really appreciated the RV dump station.Will be back here a lot!

We had a very nice time camping here. Really good choice for families or people that need a little bit of comfort when camping (there is running water and toilets on site). This is a dark park, so be mindful not to have a lot of lights, when possible use red light or cover your light with something to dampen it (bring a telescope if you have access to one!) The hiking loop that is next to the campground was nice, park rangers were super friendly too.

You need to make some spaces first come first served. Install an iron ranger if need be or the satellite kiosks as used in DVNP.

What a gift it was to stay at this campground near great hikes, flowers, starry nights and an oasis close by.

Great host at this campground. The campground is about 35 min. from the main part of Joshua Tree where most of the hikes are.

Our time here was awful for two reasons: 1) GENERATOR NOISE !! and 2) our campsite was so close to our neighbor that we could hear every word spoken by the neighbors. C'mon Park Service.. You have a perfect opportunity here: There are TWO LOOPS of campgrounds at Cottonwood. All you gotta do is close one of the loops to all generators to provide a place for those of us who would like to camp in peace and quiet. And i bet if you ever camped in some of these sites, you wouldn't squeeze them so close together.

Pull-in sites are super tight. And very uneven. Bring a lot of leveling blocks. Otherwise, very quiet.

A little bit more noise compared to my stay at Ryan Campground due to more campsites. It's also a little bit further from a lot of the hikes at the park compared to other campground locations

Nice camp site, clean, plenty of room, not too close to the adjacent camp site. A bit of drive from some of the popular trails.

My partner and I had a fantastic time at the Cottonwood campgrounds. We got to meet Don and his dog Red and they were a highlight of our trip. The way they care about Joshua Tree and the campgrounds is admiring. The bathrooms were very clean and our campsite was in a perfect spot. I highly recommend to anyone looking to make a trip to Joshua Tree to use this campsite! We made a lot of amazing memories there and only stayed for 1 night! Definitely will be making another trip sometime.

There is no cell reception (T-Mobile nor Verizon) at the campground but there are potable water spigots and flushing toilets at each loop. The sites are close together so hopefully you don't have a noisy neighbor. Like other comments, you may experience ppl who come to the campground to drink and party. There was one group that I could hear all night, They showed up late on a Saturday evening, grabbed an unoccupied site, drank and left the next morning. There are hiking trails accessible directly from the campground. The Mastodon Peak and Mastodon Mine are relatively easy to get to. The Lost Palm Oasis takes a bit more effort especially on a hot sunny day. Be sure you know your abilities before you take that trek.

Wish we would have known ahead of time that you have to travel further north in park to find Joshua Trees. Still great camping with wonderful hiking & views.

Nice campground, sites small and not very level. Bathrooms were clean. Great access to nice trails.

Very nice camping spot. We had a roadside spot that was nice but would be better for camper vans with no slide outs. We were unable to put our slideout all the way out and worried about people hitting us. Even numbers are back ins and odd numbers are roadside. They park is very clean and lots of space between sites

Beautiful hiking trails and biking. The bathrooms were clean, warm showers. We all loved our campsite which was so convenient and close to so many great adventures would definitely come back again.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
