We had a very nice time camping here. Really good choice for families or people that need a little bit of comfort when camping (there is running water and toilets on site). This is a dark park, so be mindful not to have a lot of lights, when possible use red light or cover your light with something to dampen it (bring a telescope if you have access to one!) The hiking loop that is next to the campground was nice, park rangers were super friendly too.

In spite of the shutdown, the campground was clean and wonderful. Thanks Park Service!

This is a pull along site, it was a tight fit for our 35' 5th wheel in terms of width, but we managed. Site was spacious which provided a bit of privacy. There are no hookups. You have access to central water spigots and a dump station. You are in full sun.

I loved this campground for its dark sky. A reminder: THIS IS AN INTERNATIONAL DARK SKY PARK. DO NOT BRING EXTERIOR STRING LIGHTS ETC. LEAVE THEM AT HOME FOR YOUR HOUSE IN YOUR NON-DARK-SKY neighborhoods. The bathroom doesn't even have lights interior or out (bring your flashlight people) and there's a reason for this: it's a dark sky park and guess what? you'll see the most amazing sky here maybe in your entire life. Again: THIS IS AN INTERNATIONAL DARK SKY PARK. DO NOT BRING EXTERIOR STRING LIGHTS ETC. LEAVE THEM AT HOME FOR YOUR HOUSE IN YOUR NON-DARK-SKY neighborhoods. And turn your lanterns and exterior trailer lights off if you are not needing them for cooking, eating etc. Use the red lights on your flashlight (it takes 30 minutes for your eyes to adjust after being in white light). ENJOY! The coyote calls throughout night was also cool. And we saw a desert rat twice at our campfire (ran over my sister's foot - eeks!).

Lights in the bathrooms would be nice. Also the ability to be more flexible in changing locations, having access to internet to see if other options are available. Camp site was clean, as was the rest of the campground.

A very nice campground. The campground was quiet and the site was level. Amenities were very nice. If in the area, I would stay here again.

It would have been great but the people in the campground across from us were partying until 2:30 in the morning. We had to pick up our camp and move to another available site to get away from the loud music.

We stayed at B27. It was great for our fifth wheel with slides on both sides. The restrooms was clean and the sunsets were great. We also liked that it was very close to Cottonwood Spring. Would stay at Cottonwood again

Good site (B27 tent site) in the desert. There are no large shade trees, just some shrubs and some cacti. It is kind of in the open, but not totally exposed to wind and sun. It was easy to find driving in, and the bathrooms were located centrally so it was convenient. It was unfortunate that I found trash in my general vicinity.

GH Sheet tracks and tortoise tracks right at campground. Convenient. Safe. Low key. I should have stayed here longer.

Clean campground, friendly Rangers and easy access to Cottonwood Spring from campground. Campground is quite small and if campers have their slide out, the road is like driving down a narrow street. Back-in sites seem to be roomier, although we had a perimeter space and felt cramped.

Campground was clean and quiet. Bathrooms were cleaned daily. Concrete picnic tables can't be moved but are mostly in a good location. Fire pits were cleaned out recently. There is no Verizon coverage here, a plus for us! It is a 10 minute drive out towards the I10 to find a spot with cell service. If you have a large RV or one with driver side slide out, look carefully at the pictures of your site. Many are parallel to the road and won't accommodate a slide out or very wide RV.

Spaces were very tight for our 25 rv. To be fair we arrived at dark and it was cold so we didnt spend any time outside. And we came to see Joshua Trees and theyre up north. So we left and toured the northern portion of the park. We enjoyed the park itself but would not choose Cottonwood campground again.

This area is great for OHV and Jeep trail. 30 miles from the main area of Joshua Tree near the south-east border. Good for smaller vans, and tents. No good area for RV’s
