The campground was amazing! I loved how open it was and the views, both during the day and at night, were spectacular.

Nice campground with flush toilet, potable water, fire ring and picnic tables. We had campsite #8. It was spacious and close to the toilet. We were able to set up our tents in between the bushes to kind of shield the wind instead of out in the open in the middle of the campsite. The fire ring was also shielded by bushes so it's not as windy. If you need two sites, combining it with #9 is ideal. The campground is close to the South entrance and Hwy 10. Check out the Chiriaco Summit nearby that has a 24 hr Chevron, food mart, and restaurants.

Stayed at B08, which was next to the restrooms and just diagonal from the water spigot. It was an excellent site for us as we had a toddler, and it wasn't as loud as I worried it might be near the restrooms. Plenty of space and great bird watching right there. those w bee allergies will not want this site as there were two very large flowering trees/plants on either side of the site that were covered in them (and also various birds and the local butterfly)- didn't see this as an issue at other sites. there were a couple groups that were a little louder but generally within an hour of the quiet time it did indeed quiet down. There is no shade, so be smarter than us and think about bringing something to sit under or be prepared to huddle in the shade of your car. The trail off the campground was a surprising treat, we saw some kangaroo rats as well as turkey vultures.

Beautiful park. If you camp in Cottonwood campground be aware that it's pretty far away from many sites.

Very convenient and clean. Tremendous views of the stars at night and the rock formations adjacent to the site.

My wife and I stayed in the Cottonwood campground in the B loop. Joshua Tree is a great park with many things to see. The campsite was very clean and views were wonderful! One thing visitors should be aware of is that there is a lot of driving to see all the sights in the park so make sure you have a full tank of gas.

Awesome campgrounds. Clean restrooms with water and water for doing the dishes. Only issue for me was that due to covid nobody was renting showers at least for 40 miles around the campground. But let me tell you what a sunrise on this campground one of the best I’ve ever seen in my life.

Beautiful campground walking distance to trailheads! Generous size campsites and clean bathrooms, and we had a great camp host. The reason for a 4 out of 5 rating was because our neighbors with a trailer ran their generator, it was during "awake hours", but the thing sounded like a lawn mower on turbo speed. It's the risk we take at any campground of course. A bit far from the hub of JT, but we loved our local hikes so much that it was worth it. Make sure to stargaze at night!

Other than the general over-crowding that's a direct consequence of increased visitation to the National Parks, facility was clean. Some camp sites were too close together though.
