WARNING: This site has a significantly sloped driveway and it is impossible to level a van in the short driveway. To compound matters, the picture of this site on the Recreation.gov website (which I relied on before booking) shows Site 3, which is relatively level, and NOT Site 2, which is severely sloped. Thankfully, there was another flat site available, but the camp hosts took the completely unreasonable position that the misleading description of the site was my problem because I "should have come up and had a look around" before I booked - seriously. The hosts all knew of this issue with the misleading website photo and simply did not care. So I had to pay for a second site. This is a nice campground, but this experience left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Tall pines everywhere in the campground. A hike is available in the meadow and to Big Laguna Lake. And not too far from Julian and Alpine. From Campsite 1 in Laguna Meadows.

The improvements made to the campground were great. The restrooms were consistently clean and the site well maintained. Great place for locals to get away for a few days and plenty of hiking and mountain biking

Staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. Reservation system is cumbersome and does not always reflect the actual site availabilities. Various sites were actually available but not listed on the reservation website.

The hosts from last winter are back. So good to see there smiling faces and enjoy their hospitality. The bathrooms are back in shape to utilize as well!

Nice big sites, parking space accommodate 2 cars or small camper and car, lots of hiking/biking nearby and good resupply food store close by.

We stayed in the Meadow Loop sites 5 and 9 and both were amazing. The view of the meadow was just beautiful. Site 5 only allows for two occupants which was okay as I was solo camping on my site. My friends were in a trailer in site 9. He had a very difficult time backing into the site and even dented his truck on one of the plentiful wood posts. We watched two other campers struggle to back into their sites as well. It was NOT easy as there is a ridiculous amount of wood posts lining the road and the parking pads. One of the other campers dented their brand new Airstream trying to back into. None of these vehicles were too large for the space. The toilets are vault toilets which is NOT ideal and they smelled horrible. Thankfully we were on the best side of them as to not be hit with the wafting odor. I tried to use them and almost threw up so I resorted to using my emergency camping toilet the entire weekend. There was no cell service at all which was not terrible. The campground itself was beautiful and the meadow loop was unlike any other campground we have been to. It would be perfect if it had flush toilets and sinks.

The sites in the Meadow loop are spaced apart nicely where you are not close to your neighbor. We spent two nights in our RV without power, water, or sewer hookups and we did just fine. We had to run our generator a couple of times during the day but otherwise our stay was great. Nice hiking trails around the area and it is just a short drive to Julian for pizza and/or pie, cider, and a few stores to visit for trinkets.

Great site, could be a little more level but leveling blocks helped a lot.

The campsite and campground was nice and quiet but the vault toilet restrooms were filthy and very poorly maintained! The hiking trails were great!

It was our first time to this campsite. We loved it. We loved that we could bring our dog and that dogs were allowed on the trails. The campsite was clean and open. We were near a meadow that was beautiful. It was so peaceful and relaxing. We will definitely go back

Great campground but reservation system is confusing. Sites labeled FF when we had made reservation for prior day were then showing Reserved a few days later. The hosts at site were nice and helpful but not able to explain this.

It is a nice campground overall. There is no privacy for most of the sites, especially closer to the meadow. Site 004 is very open and exposed to the elements. There are a few trees which provide "some" shade. There are 4 bathrooms (in 1 building), a set of dumpsters, some separatable trash cans, and a few water faucets. These were all located close to the meadow. So, you have to walk a bit to dump trash, grab water, and use the restrooms. Each site has a table and a fire pit. The roads were easy to navigate and the campground looked well-maintained overall. The camp host is located near the entrance on the left hand side. The hiking trails were nice and easy to follow without getting lost. My only complaint is that when it is windy, the campground offers no protection from the full force of the winds. I was in a tent rated to 45mph. The day I was camping, my tent almost collapsed several times throughout the night due to high winds. I even had it reinforced with additional lines. Just a heads-up for tent campers to pay attention to the weather forecast prior to camping. Overall, this is a great place to camp. The French restaurant down the road had delicious burgers and fries. If you are coming in from Julian, the road is a bit rough as it has a lot of cracks and ruts.

The site 1 parking spur is long and wide. It's also fairly level with a slight slant to the front. The site itself is big and clear. There are no neighbors on the camp side, and on the off camp side, site 4 has plenty of separation. There is not much shade, but you might like this during cooler weather, if you have solar or need a clear unobstructed view for Starlink. There was only a max of two bars on Verizon in certain areas. It's a quiet site, with occasional conversations heard or children playing, which is to be expected in a family campground. Cons are the pit toilets, which can occasionally be smelled, even in further sites from the restroom, depending on direction of the wind. It would also be helpful if there were more fresh water spigots spaced around the loops. Lastly, if you have a trailer be forewarned, there are wooded posts that line the streets and spurs. The streets are narrow and it can be challenging with little to no front swing room for your tow vehicle while backing in to your site.

I spent two nights camping at Laguna Campground last weekend and had a wonderful time. The campground is surrounded by tall pine and oak trees, with fresh air, blue skies, and a very peaceful atmosphere. Its a great place to relax and enjoy nature.I rode my bike for more than 10 miles around the big loop trail. The trail goes around small ponds and open meadows, and its mostly flat, which is great for running, hiking, or beginner mountain biking. If you like exploring, there are also many small trails leading into the hills where you can discover even more beautiful views.I saw many birds around the ponds and really enjoyed the scenery. Its a fantastic place for a weekend camping trip. I would definitely come back again.

Very large camp sites in the Meadow loop. Easy access to hiking. The only negative is many of the sites require a moderate amount of leveling if you are in an RV. Still worth 5 stars.

I had the misfortune of driving 8.5 hours to the campground only to find my reserved and paid for campsite occupied by a freeloading family. I had the unsavory task of asking them to leave, which they did (after trying to get me to camp somewhere else, or join them). This was no fault of the campground. I did go find the camp host to let them know what was happening and that the family may have this happen again since they were moving to another reserved but empty site. That's when I met Austin, the camp host. Austin did an excellent job of talking with both of us, separately, and was definitely great at calming my nerves. No escalation, we were all grown-ups about it. I just wanted to give Austin the Great Camp Host a shoutout! Thanks Austin! As for the campground itself, there seemed to be enough room at each site to make it comfortable. Campsites were not on top of each other. The one I was in was in the center of a ring, which was fine. I saw the sites that were on the outside of the ring, and they looked really nice, with enough space and privacy. I was in site 22 on the Shady loop.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.
