Well kept sites and bathrooms, easy access to miles of trails, poor cell reception which I consider a bonus. Very well maintained and gorgeous! Cold in early Februaryso be prepared if camping in the winter.

My fianc and I stayed here a couple of weeks back and we had a great time considering how cold it got! This campsite was conveniently located right next to the restrooms, which were kept very clean and had no odors. There is a campfire pit and large picnic table we used and a lot of space between campsites to give options to set up your tent. The camp hosts are very nice and knowledgeable about the area. They had maps available and were a great resource for us during our stay. You can also purchase firewood from the camp hosts if you didnt bring any and want to have a fire one night/morning!The campgrounds is about 2-3 miles out from the town of Mount Laguna, which has a general store open 9 am-5 pm everyday, a visitors center open on the weekends (Fri-Sun), a restaurant and bar called The Outpost open later (11am-8pm) for a drink and bite to eat, and another place we didnt get to check out called Pine House Cafe & Tavern. There were several trails available to hike within and just outside of the campgrounds. Theres Lightning Ridge trail, as well as a Big Laguna Trail you can access within the campgrounds. Big Laguna Trail takes you out to little Laguna Lake and Big Laguna Lake, both of which were full of water when we visited. The Pacific Crest Trail is accessible just outside the campground right off the main highway there and we hiked 10 miles on that one day just to check it out. We summited Garnet Peak from the PCT and it gave amazing views of the surrounding landscape, even seeing into the valley of Anza-Borrego Desert (highly recommend if you want a beautiful view!).We really liked this campground and would highly recommend staying here! Were sure to keep it on our list of favorites so we can visit again!

The Shady Loop of the Laguna Campground was a real blessing. Our fellow campers were quiet after 10pm and the vault toilets were in pristine condition. A short walk away is the "Sunset to Big Laguna Loop," among other trails and it provided beautiful views for a day hike. Potable water is also available.

Only gripe is that site 36 was on an incline and there wasn't too much level space to pitch our three tents.
