Lots of beautiful trails to hike right from the campground. Camp hosts were friendly and helpful.

Had a great time. It was peaceful and relaxing. There was a gentleman who spoke at the amphitheater about the Kumeyay and it was cool to hear about the people who originally lived on the land.

Well maintained sites, friendly hosts, and good hiking. Bathrooms smell atrocious!

I loved camping among the pine and oak trees. There is also an abundance of bird species, but beware: the host informed me that campground has had many snake sightings. I never encountered any, but it put me a tad on edge. I would suggest using rec.gov campsite photos to choose your site as only a few sites are nice and level.

Beautiful location. Very well maintained campground. Sites had a lot of space. Easy hiking trail nearby. Highly recommended.

The hike around the meadow and the ponds never disappoints. Unfortunately but understandably no fires . Only bad things were my campsite was too close to the toilets and we could smell it all night! Also I left my baseball hat and (prescription) sunglasses out on the table at night and they grew legs and were not to be found. Along with a half full bottle of wine

Great campground and I understand about no wood fires, but no propane campstoves, lanterns, or fire pits seem a little extreme. Hopefully, restrictions will loosen up soon. Camp hosts were delightful and informative and very helpful. Hiking was great, temps warm, even at night. Large campsites. Best restrooms I’ve had.

We had a wonderful time at the Laguna campsite in large part due to our camp hosts. When we arrived at the campsite, we discovered that our site had very little shade. Being very sensitive to prolonged exposure to the sun, I decided to ask the hosts if it would be possible to switch sites. Jack and Marcia obliged and helped us to find the ideal site, which lucky us- was available all three nights we were going to be there. This literally made our trip! I would have had a tough time with the limited shade in our original site but the site they recommended was shady and spacious. Jack and Marcia came around with wood, were very friendly and even helped my visiting mother-in-law (who does not speak English and was lost) find her way back to our campsite. They were great! John who helped answer some questions of mine on my way out was also very helpful. Aside from the hosts, the campsite was clean, bathrooms/showers were clean, the trails were beautiful and the water faucets worked well. We will be back soon!

Great family camping. The site host, John, was very nice and helpful. The kids enjoyed the rock formations at little Laguna Lake.
The only drawback to spot 44 is that it is super close to the restroom and we’d get the occasional chemical scent of the septic system. It wasn’t overpowering but noticeable. Still a fun experience and we will be returning to the campground soon.
