I have camped at Laguna campground many times and have always been impressed with its location and facilities, however, this time I was disappointed at how things have gone downhill under, what I believe is a change in the camp host/custodian.I spent a few days at the campground, over the Christmas period and was unhappy with the level of cleanliness of the bathrooms as well as the lack of firewood available for purchase.I can directly compare this experience with the previous Christmas period, as I also camped at the same time in December '22. During this stay, the previous camp host was very active - I saw her make her rounds several times a day. The restrooms were very clean and there was plenty of firewood available for purchase. Bearing in mind the temperature this time of year, having access to firewood is essential. The campground is amazing, but I hope these issues can be addressed so that the camping experience can be as good as it used to be

Clean quiet campground. Lots of distance from campsite to campsite.

This is the first time I have been charged $10 for a second car at my site. I made my reservation online and was unable to say teo vehicles were at the site. the camp hosts came by to collect for the extra .

Very nice campground. Pit toilets were clean and well ventilated. There's no electricity or water hookups.

Other than the weather not cooperating, the campground was very nice. The grounds and bathrooms were clean and well kept. There was Easy access to good hiking and even a restaurant.

Beautiful spot on the meadow for tent camping - bathrooms well maintained and good space between campsites. Plenty of firewood available at host site and inexpensive. Terrific hiking trails to Big Lagoon and Lake of the Woods and loops on the Pacific Crest Trail with incredible desert vistas. Can get windy, so take wind advisories seriously when setting up camp. But those winds made for clear night skies and great stargazing.
Our confirmation said the showers were closed for winter, but we were informed upon arrival that they were open and had hot water! Unfortunately the quarter showers proved to be COLD and filled with tons of large spiders which crawled up my husbands legs - pretty freaky, especially if you need glasses to see what the heck is on your leg! Makes for a good story though, ha! We had a wonderful time!

Even though this special place is only 1.5 hour drive from home, it is a word away. We literally drink in the silence of the woods up there. Nothing beats sitting under its starry night sky. The campground is always clean and well maintained.

The over 65% full campground was beautiful, peaceful, serene--right up until the adult group showed up to the Group Camp across the meadow. No change in volume was to be noticed from before 6:30pm til 9:15pm. Fortunately it stopped, otherwise there were several of us organizing to bang pots at sunrise amongst their tents.

We were in meadow loop and it is just beautiful. Open field surrounded by large pine trees. Many hiking/biking trails available.

Laguna Campground is a local favorite. I can leave my house in San Diego and have my camp set up in under 1 1/2 hours. They have recently renumbered several of the sites so take note if you are returning your old favorite spots will probably have a new number.
If you are tent camping take note of the weather forecast as the winds in the Meadow Loop can really be strong. I have noticed this campground has become very popular on weekends for plan ahead!
Enjoy this slice of heaven away from the bustle of the city!

The meadow loop is the best. Hiking and biking right out of the campsite. Kid friendly. Bathrooms are clean. Our favorite campground.

In the past year Mt Laguna has undergone significant changes that for the most part have improved your camping experience ie. Bathroom up grades, fire pits, tables and paving. That said some things are worse. With the exception of 10 or 12 sites, the campground is not suited for trailers or RV’s. This campground has more unleveled sites than any campground I’ve stayed in. I’ve camped here for fifty years and while the paving is nice they could have leveled and in some cases lengthened many sites. Instead they spent money on wooden pylons, twice as many as is necessary. If you have an RV or trailer you’ll want to ensure your site is fairly level or you are sure to be disappointed! The staff is great here.
