The location was absolutely beautiful. Myself and my husband celebrated our 10 year anniversary camping and taking in the beautiful views of the lake Georgetown. There is not a bad spot a where in the park. We are making it a tradition to go there every year and celebrate our anniversary.

Camping at this park was very enjoyable. The site and facility was clean and convenient. I would recommend this park for an enjoyable day or weekend get away to enjoy the natural central Texas outdoor beauty.

Great spot and park. Lots of room from site to site. Well shade area and the cover picnic table, with pad is close to a grill and fire ring.

In all the other parks there was enough parking room for two vehicles. Ours was only enough space for one. The pads were uneven and broken. I twisted my ankle three times.

An enjoyable and peaceful place to stay.

Our site was really nice with plenty of elbow room between us and our neighbors on either side, and a good view of the lake. We'll definitely be coming back again.

Fishing is definitely a hike from most campsites. Everyone was friendly and it was a wonderful stay!

Our reservation was for November 20 through the 22nd at campsite S008. When we arrived, the campsite picnic table was in very poor condition. It was not functional and appeared to be broken for quite some time. The park host was unable to assist us with a new picnic table and told us we had to change our reservation if we wanted to. I spoke with the park Ranger on the phone. This site has a shelter and there are only a few in the park. The park, Ranger would not simply exchange a good picnic table for the poor one that was there. The picnic table was rotted and rusted as well as one of the angle braces was broken. The functionality of the picnic table was extremely compromised and a safety hazard. Getting assistance from the park Ranger and recreation.gov was difficult and not very considerate of the situation.I have camped at Jim Hogg Park many times and I am starting to see equipment that is not being maintained. Fire rings are rusted out. Picnic tables are rotten boards. We are very disappointed with the quality of maintenance at Jim hog Park.

Really nice, well-kept camp sites. From my observations, spots 30, 32 and 34 are prime spots for sunrise view over the lake.

The restrooms at this park really need to be fixed and updated. No soap available to wash hands. Mens bathroom had no working water in sinks.Womens restroom was out of toilet paper.I didnt even try the showers.

When a screaming 18 mo old destroys your peace,you want to go home or better yet, if I ever saw a park attendant, maybe they would address it??? My sticker wasnt there when we arrived that evening, nor was it there the next day. Fortunately I had my receipt.

Love Jim Hogg. Sites are spread out and everything was clean. Site 41 was not very level left to right.
@StevenL6130350 · Camped on Nov 5, 2025 at Campsite #23
I was there a few weeks before this last trip and once again there was no hot water in the showers and the one sink in the male restroom wasn't working. Fix those and I would have no complaints. In fact that should be on the website. No hot water. As I was there in a camper that presented nothing I could not work around but people in tents are another thing altogether. They should have hot water.

Jim Hogg is our favorite camping spot in Georgetown. We camp here a few times every year. We love to go down to lake and fish. Weve caught some pretty big fish in that lake.

Inexpensive, clean site with a lot of amenities. Perfect for a short trip or a longer stay now the cooler weather has arrived.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
