I love camping but it really needs some TLC ($$$). The roads through the camping loops are awful. The firepit was rather torn up and there were large rocks scattered all around our campsite. Restrooms were clean enough but blowers are not adequate for actually drying hands.

Been to this park several times; it's a nice place. Please don't use the fire pits to dump or burn your garbage. I find garbage in the fire rings all the time at all the Corp of Engineer Parks. There are so many Dumpsters in this park there is no excuse for it. Loop 1 by the lake is in a little better condition and lake view spots fill up fast. This is also the side that usually has 50 AMP service and spots for larger RV's with a lot less Tree Troubles. This time when I opened my hood (Site 17) I saw Rodent Tracks on my engine block, but thankfully no chewed through wiring. Be sure to lift your hood periodically to make sure no rodents are attempting to nest. There are a fair amount of ants in the park as well so keep an eye open for them and don't leave food out. If you have never been to Jim Hogg park watch out for deer on Jim Hogg road from Randalls all the way into the park. Very windy at times in this location. Excellent attentive park hosts and Ranger Patrolled. Encountered a few dogs that were not leashed. Your dog may be great to you, but they may not take a liking to other people so please keep that in mind so everyone can have a great experience. Also this is a very dry area and burn bans may be in place. Please do not leave your fire smoldering and unattended. Geez I sound like the Park Karen, but things are better when rules are followed. Have a great visit.

We had a wonderful stay at Jim Hogg Park. The campground was very clean, and the sites were well maintained. We stayed at site 54, which was conveniently located near the restrooms and water, making everything very easy and accessible.The showers were nice and hot, which was a great bonus after a long day outdoors. The gate host was extremely friendly, polite, and respectful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Overall, the park was well kept and comfortable, and we would definitely stay here again.

Personnel working there are great. Clean camp sites and a quiet area. As is anywhere there are always some people that just dont get it. The rest of the people were friendly and great. Will definitely be back through out the year. The site was close to level.

Stay here at least twice a year, always a good experience. Close to restaurants and stores and park is clean. Bathrooms are ok, it is a camping so its acceptable. Camp host, very friendly.

Carol, the volunteer host was not helpful. Campground clean enough and well spaced. Some roads could be patched or resurfaced.

Came to the park just to spend some time testing systems in a new camper and really like the campground. Descent sized sites with wonderful covered pavilions. Campground stayed quite with most sites open during our stay.

Large sites, mostly level. Fairly quiet despite being in town. Close proximity to Sun City Texas and downtown Georgetown. Bathrooms were clean, but older. Showers utilized push button faucet which made showering more difficult. While showers were private, changing area was not private. Would rate higher if park added more restrooms and they were updated.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
